The United States is been one of the most powerful countries ever exists. The history about Israel goes from the time of Christ up to today’s relationship with other countries in a peaceful manner. Israel have a lot of conflict with their suppose brothers that surround them. Still, they have the time to negotiate and be a better country for the new generation. That why today they can be thankful to be part of allied forces with the United States. Israel, slightly larger than Massachusetts, lies at the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea. Israel is surrounding by Egypt on the west, Syria and Jordan on the east, and Lebanon on the north. Its maritime plain is extremely fertile. The southern Negev region, which comprises almost half the total area, is largely a desert. The Jordan, the only important river, flows from the north through Lake Hule (Waters of Merom) and Lake Kinneret (also called Sea of Galilee or Sea of Tiberias), finally entering the Dead Sea 1,349 ft (411 m) below sea level—the world's lowest land elevation (Berman).

Since the inception of an Israeli nation-state in 1948, violence and conflict has played a major role in Israel’s brief history. In the Sixty-One year’s Israel has been a recognized nation-state, they have fought in 6 interstate wars, 2 civil wars, and over 144 dyadic militarized interstate disputes (MIDs) with some display of military force against other states (Maoz 5). Israel has been involved in constant conflict throughout the past half century. Israel’s tension against other states within the Middle East has spurred vast economic, social, and political unity that has fostered a sense of nationalism and unity in Israel not seen in most other states. Over the next several pages I will try and dissect the reasons for why the nation state of Israel has been emerged in constant conflict and how this conflict has helped foster national unity and identity among the people of Israel.

A line of charismatic Judges protected Israel before the adoption of the kingship. Thus it is evident that the change from a patriarchal, loosely-knit tribal rule to a centralised government with a monarch required much self understanding, a strong stance against anti-monarchical views and tolerance of royal ideology, which had in part to be appropriated from neighbouring monarchies.
Ethnography is typically defined as research designed to explore cultural phenomenon that take place in another part of society or even the world. This requires a researcher to analyze similarities and differences between cultures through a perspective that is not judgmental, but more so open to new concepts that aren’t necessarily normal to their own culture. For my research, I decided to interview a friend of mine who is culturally different when compared to myself. Before beginning my interview I created a hypothesis, which I hoped to prove through my findings. Initially, I believed that most children, who are raised within a specific’s culture influence, tend to absorb the lifestyle and mindsets of their parents. Almost similar to the quote “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” By growing up within a specific culture’s influence, a child will grasp what they learned from their parents and apply it to their own lives.
One one hand, Israel, unlike America, can be pardoned for her isolationist actions as she is a minority country surrounded by enemies. It is a country that’s survived several attacks and wars since its creation as a nation in 1948. It is a country that needs to protect herself from the outside; her enemies are literally her neighbors. If a country needed a wall surrounding it - that country would be Israel. However, Netanyahu fans this fear, and by doing so he rejects the international calls for him to stop creating settlements in occupied territory, thus isolating the country from the international world. Netanyahu justifies his actions through the prism of security. He wants a Jewish state that retains “‘the overriding security control over the entire area west of the Jordan River’ (Cohen).” He rejects withdrawing from the West Bank, due to security fears of Hamas taking control of that region. Like Trump, Netanyahu appeals to his base (religious conservative party), by continuing to build settlements in East Jerusalem and deflecting criticism from the political left and international community. He does so by claiming that the real issue facing the country is terrorism: when security is settled then they can refocus on these settlements. “Officials said most would be built in ‘settlement blocs,’ referring to areas of the West Bank that Israel has long intended to keep under any future agreement with the Palestinians, possibly in return for land swaps along the boundary that separated Israel from the West Bank before the 1967 war,” writes Kershner of The New York
Not only because of my Jewish identity, but having lived there and it being a second home for me, Israel is very important to me. That being said, I will of course always support Israel, but there is some discourse which is not always worth my time and energy. Firstly, it all depends on what setting I am in. For example, I will not get into an argument if I am the only Jew in a room surrounded by a bunch of patriotic Palestinians. I would never engage in discourse that may risk my physical security. However, I would get into a political discussion to defend Israel in a classroom setting and attend local rallies. Additionally, I will never get into a debate on social media. I sometimes look at these political comments online for fun because they make me laugh, but I do not participate as I know that I can not change someone’s opinion via a Facebook
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been a never-ending problem facing the two states. It began in the 19th century during the Ottoman or British rule. This was between the Arabs living in Palestine and the Jews living in Israel. It was Zionism for the Jews against Arab nationalism. This conflict was known as the Arab-Israeli conflict. The main issues were; border disputes, security, the control of Jerusalem, recognition as well as Palestinian freedom of movement. These issues are what spear headed the intensifying of the conflict thus it became as part of day to day activity between the two states. The Zionists believed that Palestine was their land as according to them it was part of their historic homeland- Land of Israel. The Arabs however already inhabited the place and so there was a misunderstanding between two races. Generally that is when the conflict began till now.
Judaism is one of the most ancient religions in the world. Abraham, his descendants, and Moses are believed to have been the founders. According to Jewish beliefs until Abraham man worshiped many Gods. The story begins with Abraham and his wife Sarah trying to conceive a child. When Abraham was 99 and Sarah 90 God came to Abraham and told him they would have a son. After the child was born God again came to Abraham and tested his beliefs by asking him to sacrifice his only son Isaac. Isaac willingly went with Abraham to be sacrificed. Before Abraham could sacrifice Isaac God sent an angel down to stop him. As a reward for his faith God made a covenant with Abraham that he and his descendants would be protected as long as they continued to show faith in him and live a life that was wholesome. Also from this it is said God blessed Abraham with many children. His son Isaac had two sons Jacob and Esau, Jacob who changes his name to Israel had twelve sons. Israel’s had twelve sons they are the “12 tribes of Israel” and their descendants are later known as the Israelites also called Hebrews.

Despite Israel’s and the United States drastically different approaches to the structure and operations of the law enforcement aspect of the criminal justice system both countries agree on keeping the people safe from criminals and the even more dangerous terrorists. In fact law enforcement from the United States visit Israel and attend training seminars and conferences to learn and pool resources in regards to new techniques on dealing with terrorism, drugs, policing strategies, hand to hand combat, and any topic that can aid the other country (FIND ONE OF THE MANY).
