Most can argue that Steve Jobs was an inspiration to many entrepreneurs. The way he lived his life was the way most hoped to live theirs. Doing what they loved, and making a living off of it. If one lives every day as if it’s their last, despite challenges they may face, through determination and perseverance one will find success through the work that they love to do. Jim Rohn is another inspirational entrepreneur and motivational speaker. Both Jobs and Rohn spoke often about how they lived their lives to the fullest and how others could do the same. Some of the differences between to two men are the tones of their speeches. Rohn speaks in a way that you can apply his advice to any life. It’s general and concise. Throughout “How to Live Before You Die”, Steve Jobs speaks about the lessons he learned during his life. Jobs states that death was a strong motivator in his life. Steve Jobs’s philosophy in life was, “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” He says it himself that if the answer is “No” too many times in a row, he knows he needs to change something. The tone of Steve Jobs’s speech almost seems pessimistic but the thing he had in common with Rohn was taking risks. He dropped out of college and trusted everything would work out. If he didn’t like what he was doing he changed what needed to change.
