Winky, the little rabbit, sat by his window, watching the sun go to bed. “Good night sun,” he murmured as the sky filled up with twinkling stars. At last, Winky’s favorite time of the day was here! “Bed time! It’s bed time!” Winky exclaimed, hopping away from the window. Winky loved brushing his teeth, putting on his favorite pair of pajamas, the ones with the blue stars on them and hopping in bed to wait for Mama to read him a story and kiss him good night. But that night, Winky waited, waited and waited some more. But Mama didn’t show up. “Mama, where are you?” he wondered. Mrs. Cat, his neighbor was putting her kittens to bed. She finished reading them a story and kissed their little heads as they slept curled up, next to her. Winky tiptoed to her and asked, “Have you seen my mom?” Mrs. Cat frowned and flicked her ears, “I have not.” Winky thanked her and hopped away, wishing his mom would be back to tug him into bed and kiss him good night like Mrs. Cat did for her kittens. Winky heard a noise up on a tree and looked up. One a branch there was a nest. In the nest there were three sleepy birdies and their mom was kissing their little feathery heads and saying, “Good night and sweet dreams little ones.” Winky sighed and yawned. Oh, how sleepy he felt! But he couldn’t go to sleep, not without a good night kiss from his mom. He looked up at the moon, so big and bright. “Oh moon, up so high, have you seen my mom tonight?” The moon didn’t answer and Winky’s little eyes were getting so heavy with sleep. He could hardly keep them open. Suddenly, the moon came closer and closer, until she floated in front of Winky. “Little Winky, your mom has been looking everywhere for you. She’s so worried,” the moon said, her soft glow making Winky feel even sleepier. He wanted to hop up and fall asleep on the moon. It looked so soft and
