Effects on America (1945-1980)

From the creation of the United States, it had to overcome many things and take action on multiple issues. Starting with the French and Indian war that removed France from the original colonies, continuing to the revolts against taxes leading up to the American Revolution, when the United States won their independence from Britain, resulting in one of the most important documents in the United States, the Declaration of Independence and our first president, George Washington. Followed by the Civil War between the Union and the Confederacy, that led to the Emancipation Proclamation that outlawed slavery in the United States. Then proceeding to the 1st and 2nd World Wars that gave us nuclear warfare, including the atomic bomb and the Hydrogen Bomb (the “H-Bomb”), the crash of the stock market, along with the Great Depression under the Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt, the only president to be elected four times, and the fear of communism and the Soviet Union that carried on into the Vietnam War. All of these wars and events had a similar attribute to them, they had a great effect. From the year 1945 to the year 1980, many events affected United States history. Some of these events included; colored television, Elvis Presley (the invention of Rock & Roll), and the election of President John F. Kennedy.

Born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts, John F. Kennedy had previously served in both the U.S. House of Representatives as well as the U.S. Senate before becoming president in 1961. ... now, have changed the way America’s society operates; the way we think, and the way we express ourselves. For example, Elvis affected the music business, such as; its demographic for certain types of music and its amount of influence. John F. Kennedy affected the world of politics in the way that people look at the candidate’s personality as well as their qualifications, and plan if they are elected president. Television, though slow in development at first, had unlocked a brand new realm of entertainment, information, as well as influences on the future generations of America. In all, America wouldn’t be what it is today without these items in history.
