One out of five children suffer from starvation and thirst all around the world. But suffering from thirst isn 't so common in the U.S because one way or another water is easy to find. Many people all over the world take purified water for granted and see it as something they will always have. In Africa the people dream of having drinking water in their daily lives. Contaminated water affects many people from Africa. Such as health issues, pollution, and starvation. Africa civilians are one of the top countries in the world that suffer the most from starvation and dehydration.
This problems is affecting thousands of people and is causing many health issues to all the people drinking from the contaminated water. The water in Africa is being contaminated in all kind of different ways Such as oil companies that do not know how to manage the water properly and oil is being transferred into the water. Oil plays a huge role in the dirty water that surrounds Africa. For example, in the article " Water pollution near mines prompts South Africa Probe" says " Scientist have found high quantities of uranium, arsenic, sulfuric acid and other toxic materials in streams and rivers in and around Johannesburg, where there has been gold mining in 130 years". This demonstrates that the activities done in Africa are not investigated before even doing them.Africans don’t have any other option than to drink the water available for them. Contaminated water is a worldwide issue that many find a difficult problem to solve. Children and families in Africa have to walk miles in order to find water that is clean and will not affect them in any negative way. Also oil companies are against cleaning the contaminated water in Africa because they are the main cause dealing with this issues. For instance the article says “ Shell and Nigeria have failed an oil pollution clean-up.” Oil companies have leaks happening all over Africa and don 't care if the water is being cleaned or not. These oil companies only care about the money they are making and not about the people that they are harming. Children die at a daily basis because of this problems that 's not been solved over the decades. Money being spent in other things isn 't being used properly. All the people causing pollution and oil companies have to be careful in the water that they are contaminating.
