Today’s society relies heavily on cars for transportation. Car’s allow people the freedom of traveling from one place to another easily and at any time. In 1913 Henry Ford Made cars affordable and accessible to everyone with the assembly line. Henry Ford’s assembly line was able to produce 1 car every 12 hours (history.com) . The advancements of technology have made cars more reliable and wanted more than ever. Car companies like Nissan, Honda, Tesla, and Chevy have become more conscious of the environment and invented cars that run on electricity. As today’s society shifts cars may no longer be essential to the world. The younger generations of the world no longer care about cars. One specific scene in the documentary is when two men decide to car share instead of each owning their own vehicle. The Men decided this was the best choice because it cuts the cost of owning a vehicle in half while still having the freedom that a car provides. The original owner realized owning a car was very expensive so he decided it would be best to share the costs with another person. This allowed him to reduce his expenses and provide transportation for someone in need. Public transportation is the most efficient way to get around. Riding the train allows people to save money, get from place to place in a crowded city faster, while also giving them time to read the paper, call their mom, or get some needed extra sleep in before their long day.

Although many people are shifting more toward public transportation, cars will never go out of style. Cars will always be a major source of public transportation due to the advantages cars have over public transportation.Cars allow freedom to move anywhere at anytime, public transportation has a set schedule and can only take someone so far. The car industry is evolving to fit the wants and needs of today's society. CEO of Tesla Elon Musk explained in the documentary that the car industry is advancing in technology everyday, creating new ways to satisfy consumers.

Millennials are more attached to their phones than cars. They would prefer having their phones over having a car. Mark Norman, president of Zipcar, the largest car sharing company conducted a survey on millennials over owning a car. Millenials response was “We don't care about owning a car” ( The cheapest generation).
Owning a car will never be a thing of the past, although there has been a large movement toward public transportation cars are still the leading source of transportation. Cars allow freedom, individuality, and something to take pride in. Cars are important to the economy, not everyone lives in big urban cities, many people have to travel to big cities for work and the only way to do so is by car.
Being a member of the younger generation at the age of 18 i am not apart of the movement toward public transportation. I am emotionally attached to my car. My car is my most prized possession. Owning a car has taught me a lot, it has taught me responsibility, being conscious, learning the economy, learning to negotiate and many other values that will help me in life. I do not believe cars will ever go out of style because of their importance in the economy and advantages over public transportation, at least not until we have flying
