Daredevil is a series that has a typical silly radioactive origin story, which is what we see in the first episode. The story begin as a little boy, Matt Murdock pushes a man out of the way of a careering truck and ends up with some weird and mysterious chemicals, that splashed in his face that the truck was carrying, almost completely blinding him and also giving him the power, as he grows older, to beat up pretty much anybody. Also to hear, touch, taste and smell better than most non-superheroes to make up for his lack of sight. Once Murdock and Foggy became Karen Page lawyer, they’ve been trying to investigate on her case. Foggy thinks that they shouldn’t really take anything considering the fact that the evidence stacked against her. Meanwhile Murdock wonders why they haven’t charged her with such overwhelming evidence. He thinks something else is going on. He thought right. While Karen was in prison she had been attacked by someone that was working for the assassins but thankfully she had self-defense and was not killed. After that Murdock and Foggy convinced the guards to release Karen due to their lack of security. Karen reveals her tale about how she happened to receive and email that wasn’t for her. The email reveals a pension fund with a lot of money that isn’t exactly a pension fund if you know what I mean, (criminal stuff). Murdock was still suspicious because how come the first time when she was with Daniel Fisher she didn’t get killed but the second time she almost was? Unless she still has the file, which she denied. She was welcomed to Murdock’s house to stay for the night and she took advantage at the fact that he is blind, so she snuck out to her old apartment where she kept the file hidden. “Geronimo: an American legend” is a story of an apache warrior who fought against the United States in order to preserve his peoples culture. The film starts off, ironically, with the first surrender of Geronimo. His people are sent to a reservation called turkey creek. On this reservation they were expected to become farmers that would produce mostly corn. However the apache where not harvesting enough to sustain their community and had to rely on government checks.
In “Kim Possible”, Saul Elbein reports on the story of a women giving a false confession and detectives failing at not seeing past their own idea of what happened, and looking at the details. The podcast was published on October 11, 2013 on This American Life. In the podcast we are introduced with the murder of a man along the river. His personal belongings were stolen including his credit cards which led them to surveillance of a woman using a ATM which looked like a woman named Kim. A man named Jim Trainum who is the lead detective on the case was the one to start the interrogation, and she denied everything she was being accused of. Eventually during the afternoon of that day she admits to only finding the credit cards and signing the credit card receipts.
The novel, 'Heroes' is written by Robert Cormier and was published in 1998. It is set in Frenchtown, America, between 1940 and 1945, during the Second World War and explores the themes of guilt, compassion and heroism. It is about Francis Cassavant, who desires revenge from his relationship with his friend Larry LaSalle. The plot creates tension and suspense and explores how and why Francis has returned from the Second World War to kill Larry.

In today’s society, people tend to overlook what they say and how they say it to avoid any dramatic event. Ken Hamblin is the author of “The Black Avenger.” He has worked in various media fields and continues to work as a talk radio host and has a talk show of his own. He also refers to himself as a thinking black man (384-385). Hamblin seems to believe that hard work is the only way to be successful. In the history of the United States, there have been many wars like Civil War. Civil War is a war in the United States between the North and the South. In “The Killer Angels” by Michael Shaara is explained of the fogginess that often accompanies warfare. This novel talks about the period of June 30th, 1863 through July 3rd, 1863 when civil war was happening. It is a story of the Battle of Gettysburg, three years into the Civil War. The Killer Angels is also a story that at times questions what the Civil War was about. The Civil War was a war fought over slavery and the North made their own way to South by imposing the South. Slavery was the main reason what got the Civil War started in the South and separation between South and North was stronger.

In Joseph Zobel’s, Black Shack Alley, we come across many different forms of education. José, the protagonist, moves from the plantation town, Petit-Bourg, to a more urbanized town, Fort-de-France. His home town, Petit-Bourg has a sugar cane plantation where his grandmother, Mman Tine, works. She doesn’t want him to end up in the petites-bandes, the group of children who work in the field, so she works very hard to give José opportunities so he can have a better life. Many people think that reading more can help them to think and develop before writing something. Others might think that they don’t need to read and or write that it can really help them to brainstorm things a lot quicker and to develop their own ideas immediately (right away). The author’s purpose of Stephen King’s essay, Reading to Write, is to understand the concepts, strategies and understandings of how to always read first and then start something. The importance of this essay is to understand and comprehend our reading and writing skills by brainstorming our ideas and thoughts a lot quicker. In other words, we must always try to read first before we can brainstorm some ideas and to think before we write something. There are many reasons why I chose Stephen King’s essay, Reading to Write, by many ways that reading can help you to comprehend, writing, can help you to evaluate and summarize things after reading a passage, if you read, it can help you to write things better and as you read, it can help you to think and evaluate of what to write about.
“The Fire,” chapter two of the novel “Kindred” by Octavia E. Butler is about how Dana survives in the past after she is conscious of where and when she is. The story starts with Dana frightened of being transported again, which she did. After saving the boy, Rufus, from burning his house, she discovered that she has gone to the past, 1815, and that Rufus was her ancestor. Since it was the age where slavery was present, she escaped Rufus’ house in fear of being slaved to search for Alice, another one of her ancestor, hoping to get shelter. She found it at the time Alice’s family was raided by the whites, and Alice’s father was captured. She helped Alice’s family, but soon after she was discovered by a white man. Dana knocked him unconscious, then returned home. Afterwards, Kevin and her prepared Dana in an event where she get transported again.

Urinetown was a humorous play at times with socially relevant themes. Kotis and Hollmann imagined a dark and disrupted community that was controlled by a corrupt government and eventually overthrown. Current social forces such as corruption, environmental issues, and corporate control may have shaped their feelings.
