2. Humanity There is really not much to think about the contemporary feminist movement of today, which has seems to be quiet and focused on too many issues, when reading more about it. There is and was more awareness of the past movements that involved Gloria Steinem, Billie Jean King, Jane Fonda, Crystal Lee Sutton ( the real Norma Rae), Susan B. Anthony and Eleanor Roosevelt, to me they had much more of an imprint on women’s issues than those of today. ( 1970) the feminist movement is one of the most powerful social and political forces of recent times. It resulted in increased anthropological interest in the role of gender in human relationships and in society generally. (Peoples p243) They had more to prove back then, than the feminist movements of today, of which should have developed or continued where the other movements left off. Eleanor …show more content…

The lack of an energetic and robust political movement, the lack of an identity "woman" with which to align, and the perception of restrictive and detrimental positions associated with feminism have contributed to bring about a state of post-feminism, a state in which there is nothing to join and no clear "woman" to be, but in which many of the concerns of actual women about equality, free expression, power, respect, and sexual subjectivity are still present and compelling. However, this isn't necessarily the case. Ever since the rise of the internet, in the late 20th Century, feminism has had a revival causing it to grow in popularity and spread across forums everywhere. Feminism currently represents much more than it did in its infantile stage, having evolved to include relevant issues that affect every woman in today’s subordinating world. Issues such as rape culture, slut shaming, abortion and the wage gap have all been adapted into the feminist agenda with the hope that, as a united force, women could bring change to a misogynist society. The bra burning days are over, and feminism is on a rise, bringing light to issues that need to be addressed.
