Stress is one of the problem that is present in many of the peoples life nowadays. But being an airline pilot is one of the most stressful jobs in today’s world and a stressful pilot can cause to a lot of accidents and incidents which can cost many lives. Pilots have a lot of reasons to be under stress. Let’s discuss about what are the causes of stress for pilots and how does it affect them.
In this section I would like to discuss about one of the most important stressor for pilots what is the time-schedules. As we all know if we have to do a lot of things and we have got no enough time this causes a stress. Stress caused due to family or home. This kind of a stress can be divided into 2 happiness stress and sadness stress. For example when there is a child born in the family or a marriage coming up. Actually this is good news but still causes a stress. Secondly being away from the family, a divorce, feeling in secured due to medical and proficiency examinations that are done continuously, being economically conscious are the causes of being under stress unhappily. Well taking into account the happiness stress we actually see that there is a problem that affects women when she is pregnant. This is caused due to changing of personnel relationship with the husband and building of a new relationship with the unborn baby this affects mothers emotional. Therefore a child can be very tasking and become a major stressful life event that can cause a mood disorder (O'Hara, Lewis, Schlechte, & Varner, 1991). Due to this kind of stress in men & women we see that it affects them emotionally, mentally, psychologically therefore behavioural changes are seen in pilots such as loss of motivation, excessive drinking, taking longer to perform
