Raymond Schillinger’s goal is to make boy dolls the norm and break gender stereotypes. The video also intended to teach boys to feel more comfortable with caring and caretaking so when they’re older, they don’t believe the responsibilities of raising a child are completely up to the wife. Kristen saying she experienced sexism in the workplace, her belief that working in the law firm was isolating, clichés in the toy industry, Kristen saying that she was a great associate at the firm, her not being able to spend quality time with her children, and Katie stating that boys can’t be a loving father without a doll, are some claims made in the film. The first example of pathos is in audio when Kristen is saying, “There was always a sense of agitation and annoyance in the firm when I had to take care of my child”. She states that the people in her workplace didn’t understand the importance that came with taking care of kids. In the visual track when Kristen says that she wasn't spending enough time with her children, it showed her youngest child waddling away from her calling for his momma. This illustrates that while working at the firm, Kristen was not able to devote her time to her time to her family. There are multiple examples of pathos in the text track when the word ‘love’ and hearts appear throughout the video. This demonstrates that the boys are growing up in a loving and friendly environment which will cause them to become affectionate people.
