The Blood of Olympus is the final book in the Heroes of Olympus series. In the previous book, House of Hades, Percy and Annabeth make their way back from Tartarus to the real world. They reunite with the other five demigods, Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel, and Leo, and together they take down the sorceress Pasiphae and the giant Clytus. Following that, Reyna, the praetor of Camp Jupiter (the Roman camp) shows up and gets updated by the demigods about their adventures. The squad then decides to split into two groups. One group consisting of Piper, Nico ,and Coach Hedge decide to head for Camp Half Blood (the Greek camp) while the other group with Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, and Hazel continue …show more content…

There they learn that, just like the other gods, Victoria (Greek side) is in conflict with her Roman side Nike. Using Piper’s charm speak, the demigods kidnap the goddess and decide to take her with them to Athens where Gaea awaits. Meanwhile using Nico’s shadow travel ability Nico, Reyna, and Hedge race to get back to Camp Half Blood to stop Octavian, the crazed praetor of Camp Jupiter, form waging war between the Romans and the Greeks. Skipping form place to place, the trio accidently land in Puerto Rico where Reyna is greeted by her sister Hylla. After a warm chat with her sister, Reyna is faced by Orion, a Giant destined to kill Artemis. While in action, Annabeth gets a cut on her leg and her dripping blood quenches the thirst of the prophecy. The prophecy of the seven stated that, Gaea would awake only if Blood of Olympus were to spill on her. To make matters even worst, a drop of blood from Percy’s bloody nose slithers down his cheek and drops on the ground fulfilling the prophecy of the seven. With the completion of her promise, Gaea awakes and flees to Camp Half Blood to destroy the only home that Percy’s ever known. With the help of Zeus, the king of the gods himself, the demigods are able to get instant transportation to Camp Half
