The Blood of Olympus is the final book in the Heroes of Olympus series. In the previous book, House of Hades, Percy and Annabeth make their way back from Tartarus to the real world. They reunite with the other five demigods, Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel, and Leo, and together they take down the sorceress Pasiphae and the giant Clytus. Following that, Reyna, the praetor of Camp Jupiter (the Roman camp) shows up and gets updated by the demigods about their adventures. The squad then decides to split into two groups. One group consisting of Piper, Nico ,and Coach Hedge decide to head for Camp Half Blood (the Greek camp) while the other group with Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, and Hazel continue

There they learn that, just like the other gods, Victoria (Greek side) is in conflict with her Roman side Nike. Using Piper’s charm speak, the demigods kidnap the goddess and decide to take her with them to Athens where Gaea awaits. Meanwhile using Nico’s shadow travel ability Nico, Reyna, and Hedge race to get back to Camp Half Blood to stop Octavian, the crazed praetor of Camp Jupiter, form waging war between the Romans and the Greeks. Skipping form place to place, the trio accidently land in Puerto Rico where Reyna is greeted by her sister Hylla. After a warm chat with her sister, Reyna is faced by Orion, a Giant destined to kill Artemis. While in action, Annabeth gets a cut on her leg and her dripping blood quenches the thirst of the prophecy. The prophecy of the seven stated that, Gaea would awake only if Blood of Olympus were to spill on her. To make matters even worst, a drop of blood from Percy’s bloody nose slithers down his cheek and drops on the ground fulfilling the prophecy of the seven. With the completion of her promise, Gaea awakes and flees to Camp Half Blood to destroy the only home that Percy’s ever known. With the help of Zeus, the king of the gods himself, the demigods are able to get instant transportation to Camp Half
Moving forward into chapter seventeen of Cormac McCarthy’s “Blood Meridian”, Glanton’s crew rode on as the Apaches they drank with held back, as they refused to ride through the night. The next night Glanton’s men made a fire and discussed what’s happened in their group, the members who’d been killed. Then brought up there possibly being life on other planets. The Judge immediately disagreed though and did a trick, as if that was being the proof to his point or something.
The House of Hades by Rick Riordan is a classic tale of good and evil. this book is the sequel to The Mark of Athena in the Heroes of Olympus series. Seven demigods are the main characters who set out to stop the evil Goddess Gaia from waking and destroying the world. The seven demigods are faced with both external and internal conflicts that help to shape the characters and the book.
Cormac McCarthy's novel Blood Meridian details what can only be described as the kid's journey through hell. Throughout the novel McCarthy gives the reader the sensation of being in hell. The is brutal and unforgiving physical setting adds a hellish atmosphere in which there is no evidence of any morals or sympathy for the innocent. Judge Holden is even described in terms reminiscent of the devil. All of these factors lead the reader to compare the kid's journey through the Mexican-American border country with a descent into hell.

Lina had to transfer schools and get used to a new family unit at home because she now had a stepsister named, Sky. Lina felt like a fish out of water in her new environment. She faces off against the Jaguars captain, Avery when first arriving to the school.
Hercules, or known in Latin as Heracles, was the greatest of the Greek heroes, a paragon of masculinity. In art Hercules was portrayed as a powerful, muscular man wearing lion's skin and armed with a huge club. He was also described as being a macho man buffoon, who was very impulsive. Hercules’ home and birthing place is in Thebes, Greece. Thebes is a city in central Greece. It plays as an important setting in many Greek myths, such as the stories of Cadmus, Oedipus, Dionysus and many other important roles in Greek Mythology. The demigod, Hercules has an interesting origin, he is most famous for his 12 labors, and leaves a legacy in words and expressions.
Bad blood is a book that was written James H. Jones who is an associate professor of History. The book narrates on how the government through the department of Public Health service (PHS) authorized and financed a program that did not protect human values and rights. The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment which was conducted between 1932 and 1972 where four hundred illiterate and semi-illiterate black sharecroppers in Alabama recently diagnosed with syphilis were sampled for an experiment that was funded by the U.S Health Service to prove that the effect of untreated syphilis are different in blacks as opposed to whites. The blacks in Macon County, Alabama were turned into laboratory animals without their knowledge and the purpose of the experiment
Blood on the River by Elisa Carbone is a historical novel that focuses on the uphill battle to build the first permanent English colony known as Jamestown. In order to survive the colonists had to find a way to trade with the Indians for recourses and battle against the common enemy, called death. Having a healthy, functioning society was by far the hardest thing to maintain.
Cherry Valance - Cherry is from the richer part of town and associates mainly with the Socs, but she befriends Pony and the other Greasers and gives them information about the Socs.
She enters the hall where the warriors are sleeping. They wake in time to ward off the attack with their swords but the monster manages to escape with one victim in her claws (this is Aeschere).
The epic poem called The Odyssey, which was written by the poet Homer, is one of the many classical stories from Ancient Greek culture. It tells the story of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his journey back home from the war with Troy, which had occurred in Homer’s other epic Greek poem, The Illiad. Odysseus faces many trials and quests in his journey home and to take back his kingdom from the suitors, such as meeting the witch Circe, blinding a Cyclops named Polyphemus, dealing with Poseidon, and staying with the goddess Calypso. The poem has many themes that are relevant to it. One such theme is the factor of redemption. Redemption is usually a typical subject in any kind of religion, like the Greek religion and Christian religion. The story of Odysseus has an underlying message of him receiving redemption from the Greek gods. The Odyssey is a tale of redemption because it deals with Odysseus being forgiven by the gods after having to go through many trials and wrongs to rightfully claim back his wife and the throne of Ithaca.
“Then the screaming and shouts of triumph rose up together, of men killing and men killed, and the ground ran blood.” From first examination the Iliad seems to be an epic founded on an idealized form of glory, the kind that young boys think about when they want to join the army. A place full of heroism and manliness where glory can be achieved with a few strokes of a sword and then you go home and everything is just lovely. Many people view the Iliad this way, based on it’s many vivid battle descriptions and apparent lack of remorse for the deaths that occur. This, however, is not how war is presented in the Iliad. Homer presents a very practical outlook on war countering the attainment of the glory with the reality of its price and the destruction it causes. He successfully does this by showing the value of the lives of each person that dies and, in a sense, mourning their passing, describing the terror and ugliness of war, and, through the characters of Achilleus and Hector, displaying the high price of glory.
Brains over brawn, who will win this battle?Homer's tale of Odysseus' adventures in “The Odyssey” show that being intelligent and cunning can be far better than having physical strength. Being physically strong certainly has its advantages, but not in all circumstances. Strength in intelligence shows new meaning of strength. Odysseus is amused with himself when he defeats Polyphemus. His great skills with a bow outweigh the others abilities. Knowledge of the placement of his bed win his beloveds heart.
Homer's Iliad is commonly understood as an epic about the Trojan War, but its meaning goes deeper than that. The Iliad is not only a story of the evolution of Achilleus' persona, but at times it is an anti-war epic as well. The final book proposes many questions to the reader. Why not end with the killing of Hektor? Most stories of war conclude with the triumphant victory of good over evil, but in the Iliad, the final thoughts are inclined to the mourning of the defeated Hektor, which accentuates the fact that good has not triumphed over evil, but simply Achilleus triumphed over Hektor. Ending with the mourning of Hektor also brings to center stage for the first time the human side of war and the harsh aftermath of it. We see that war not only brings great glory, but also much suffering and anguish. Homer puts his anti-war views on display.
The fact that Percy Jackson has friends is incredible. It is an unshakable fact that any friend of his within a ten-mile radius will be in a life or death situation with him by dinner, and they are not always as lucky as he is. However, that is getting ahead of ourselves. Over the course of the five-part contemporary young adult series, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, the titular character, Percy Jackson, must embrace his Greek God parentage and save Olympus with the help of his fellow demigods. The aim of this paper is to discuss his Hero’s Journey throughout the series, provide an in-depth character analysis, and draw parallels between Percy and the three classic Greek heroes of mythology: Perseus, Theseus, and Hercules.
