The big question. No not that, the other one. The "what happens to us after life" question. It is something that has intrigued people everywhere. It has prompted the beliefs and semantics of different cultures all around the world. It started wars, divided people, and now dictates how we are all to act. "We should do this, we should do that. If we don't, we will be punished." I, for one, am tired of it. By all means, think what you will. But this is my writing, and you will have to open your mind to my thinking if you wish to continue. It is first of all necessary to establish what is meant by the term "God". This term is used to designate a Supreme Being endowed with the qualities of omnipotence and omniscience, which is the creator of the universe with all its contents, and the chief lawgiver for humans. God is generally considered as being concerned with the welfare of his human creatures, and the ultimate salvation of those who follow his dictates. God is therefore a person of some kind, and the question whether such an entity exists or not is fundamental to all theistic systems.

God can be defined as a being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions (1). There are many people that do not believe in any religion. People who do not believe in a religion have no reason for believing in a God. People who do not believe in a God and argue against the existence of God are proving something that is completely false. There is a God for numerous reasons.
Many people state that they do not believe in any kind of god, that the world simply came into existence. However, this belief cannot hold true. Simply by examining nature and all of its intricate details, people stand unable to deny the presence of a Creator. Deep down, people cannot help but to feel that something greater than themselves exists. A Supreme Being- a god, but what kind of god exists? A god similar to Ares, the war-god of the Greeks? One who lusts for blood and destruction? Or a placid god, one parallel to Eirene, the Greek goddess of peace? Fabricated by mankind, these so called “gods” all bear flaws. The Bible, the Word of the Lord, remains the only book on earth that gives an account of the true God and His attributes. Through examination of the Word, readers will come to the realization that a just God exists, that He sends trials to his followers to develop their faith, and that He remains sovereign.
In his book, “Sum”, David Eagleman uses his creative imagination to design forty unique ideas on the subject of the afterlife. Eagleman has stated in the past that none of the short stories in the book are to be considered theological proposals. The main point of the book is to emphasize the importance of asking questions and coming up with new theories beyond the ones that have always been passed down. Eagleman accomplishes getting the point across by creating completely different stories based on only a few themes. These themes include: consciousness, God, computers, and more. By doing this, he is forming new ideas and possibilities from very general topics which is what we, as humans, should be doing.

Since the beginning of human civilization, Homo sapiens have strived to address the existence of God. In every era, humans have tried to explore the existence of God and presented their own elaborations to the concept of God. Some found Sun to be God, while others try to find “godly” part in other elements of nature like tress, animals, or stars. It can be noted that the existence of God is a concept, which is found in the very nature of human beings. The question of the “seen” or “unseen” is yet another argument, which populates the debate of philosophers. There is no doubt that religions have played a critical role in establishing the existence of God. At the same time, different religions interpret the presence of God in a distinct manner.
Everyone on Earth has a common goal in life: to be happy. The time period in which they hope to have happiness and the ways that people attempt to achieve happiness vary greatly for each person. Some people hope to achieve happiness in this life; others hope to achieve eternal happiness in the afterlife. There seems to be no point in neglecting one and supporting the other. Either way the individual is subject to misery for at least a lifetime. Everyone should find as much long-term happiness in this life, contentment at death, and, in the event that the afterlife actually exists, aim to have peace after death. This happiness can be discovered through attempting to answer controversial questions about life, death, and origins through observing the world surrounding, and including, mankind.
Death is a controversial topic that most people in society tend to avoid. Death is often difficult to talk about regarding people. People often tend to lean towards having insight and control on everything in this world. Death is one thing that people cannot have control over or do not completely understand. Death often results in sadness for friends and love ones who wont see that person anymore. Death in a sense is unclear to individuals sense there is no scientific proof to understand what happens when a person dies. There are various beliefs of what happens when a person dies, according to different cultures. Some have a stance as seeing death as termination from existence. Others have a stance on death as leaving one world and having a portal to another life. In a sense comparing these to beliefs death is either real or not real. Philosophically death would be examined through human reasoning. Personally, I believe that when you die physically your spirit man goes to either Heaven or Hell, depending on belief in Jesus. My stance is based on the Christian stance on how you will spend eternity in one place or another. Even though there is no evidence of what happens when you die, when you die you either go to heaven or hell because the Bible and Christian faith have a firm belief in this doctrine. An individual also has a spirit that is eternal.
