1. The Beatles were a legendary rock group that formed in Liverpool, England, in 1960, and went on to transform popular music as a creative, highly commercial art form over the next decade. The Beatles were one of the most popular bands of all time. They had a string of hit songs and some of the most successful albums in music history. In a ceremony held at New York's Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Mick Jagger inducted The Beatles into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18th, 1988. They are one of if not the most iconic Rock n’ Roll groups of all time.

Long before The Beatles were influencing generations of musicians, they were being inspired themselves by the work of some of America's early rockers, such as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Carl Perkins, and Little Richard. The Beatles covered songs from both Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley at the beginning of their career, like Chuck's "Rock and Roll Music", Elvis's "That's All Right, Mama". Another important figure to influence The Beatles in their music playing and production would have to be Ravi Shankar. There are many artists and groups that were influenced by The Beatles in some way, some examples of artists that were influenced by The Beatles are Oasis, Blur, Pulp, The Verve, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, The Byrds and many others. The Beatles songs and unique style of playing music contributed to the production of many other artists and their music. The Beatles are and continue to be one of the most influential Rock and Roll groups and inspire many bands and artists to this day.
