The Character that stood out to me the most in “The Art of Racing in the Rain” is Enzo the dog. The whole story is narrated by Enzo. Enzo is a dying dog but he is a thoughtful spirited dog who lives with a family that loves him. He has a knowledge of a human. Even though Enzo is dying he is ready to die because his ultimate destination is to be reincarnated as a human. While I was reading the story I could tell how much passion Enzo towards Denny. He wants the best for Denny. They do everything together, he would help Denny with his racing, and he has a lot of support to Denny.
In my life I experience a lot of hardships and heartbreak. I believe going through hard times can be a good thing because I learn more about myself, how I handle situations, and it may also teach me to be more humble. Each chapter that I read I get to know more and more of each characters personality. Making Enzo the narrator was a brilliant idea because it was interesting making a pet dog the narrator and knowing what is going on in Enzo’s brain. I believe they made Enzo the narrator because he has a knowledge of human and that people would say things in front of him without thinking that he understands what they are talking about, but Enzo is different, he understands. My favorite part of the story is that when Denny and Enzo reunited at the end of the story. Enzo was reincarnated as a young boy who is car racing fanatic and he is the number one fan of Denny. I would change nothing about the story, although I would want to see another book about Denny on his later years and life or how Enzo lives his life as a
