One contemporizes issue that I would like to discuss is about legalizing marijuana. It is a bit weird that I have a strong opinion on legalizing marijuana, but the purpose I want to write about it is not for those who use them incorrectly, but those who need marijuana for medical use. Throughout my high school years until now, I have seen many situations when it comes from an individual that is in need of the use of marijuana for medical purpose, but unfortunately, there are few states that haven’t have a law to be passed. But overall, Utilitarianism is any kind of action that is tight if it produces the greatest overall happiness over unhappiness. So, how exactly can Utilitarianism theory support my argument toward legalizing marijuana? The answer to it is pretty much how Ulitiarism is defined, the action which produces happiness over unhappiness. The way I see marijuana having an impact on bringing happiness to an individual is by taking marijuana can soothe their symptom and once the symptom is clear, then the can feel happy due to the pain have decreased. If we think about it, legalizing marijuana for those individuals who need them for medical use. One theory that will defy on that legalization of marijuana would be the theory of Cultural Relativism states that the moral code of a society determines what is right within the society, if the moral code of a society say that a certain action is right, at least with that society. This theory will suggest that the society will be against the use of medical marijuana. The relativism suggests that if legalizing marijuana should be prohibited, then it should it not be legalized. Because of the action of not legalize the drug for numerous of reasons, then that action of not legalizing is correct within the society, which is the Federal government.
