"No Justice, No Peace!" A statement that has become the headline of the protest on the 405 freeway in Inglewood. This protest broke out on July 17, 2016 at 10:30p.m. when several civilians garnered attention towards a common goal; to end racial discrimination and police brutality to the people of color. Although this protest lasted only about ten minutes, the civilized behavior these protesters displayed was phenomenal and grabbed hold of many witnesses whose cars had been held on the highway. With the advancement in the media, these protesters sought an opportunity to address the first world problems and created the "Black Lives Matter" movement. Both are intricate in the topic of beliefs. The Allegory of the Cave talks about the actions people find themselves in, and how they are more comfortable when they are forced to stay with the very little knowledge their minds can conspire oppose to lengthening the belief of others. In the short story, when one seeks an opportunity to expand their horizon, they are introduced to a baffling feeling at first. An act such as this one is very much in comparison to the 405 protest, there may have been an extensive amount of people willing to contribute their opinion, however there were also an extensive amount of people not willing to contribute due to the uncommon interest. These protesters along with the man who ached for the escape from the cave both acted in unity to which they saw as justifiable. The man who escaped saw that there had been more to what meets the eye and as Plato states "The world of knowledge the idea of good appears last of all, and is seen only with an effort; and, when seen, is also inferred to be the universal author of all things beautiful and right"(3). As for the protesters, they designated yet another fight, which got them to become one step closer to reaching their goal. The correlation between all three stories hold a strong opinion on the difference in beliefs. Bhikkhu explains how the actions people aspire correspond to what they believe would lead to a noble outcome of the Blessed One. The behavior that enables what the self righteous believe to be all mighty executes any other form of opinion. Thanissaro Bhikkhu then continues with a segment stating "But if there is no world after death, if there is no fruit of actions rightfully & wrongly done, there here in the present life I look at myself with ease - free from hostility, free from ill will, free from trouble"(5) this empowers many people to open up their belief and proceed with actions far beyond what they consider to be the norm.
