The Advantages of Communism Over Capitalism
The purpose of this essay is to prove that Communism is a better form
of economic organization, compared to capitalism. I will use the
following examples of quality, employment, health care and society, to show
why Communism is a better form of economic organization.
First of all in a communist regime, people are all equal to each
other no matter how educated that person is, in the eyes of the government.
For example a Surgeon how is very well educated is equal in status with a
peasant farmer because in communism their is no such thing as lower class,
middle class and upper class. Eliminating economic boundaries which
separate people, benefits the whole society because then we eliminate the
have and have not, as a circumstance it eliminates crime.
Secondly in a Communist economic system people are never unemployed
because the government owns the means of production. Meaning the
governments owns all the factories and stores because their is no private
owner ship in a Communist system. This is good because the government can
control and decide what is needed for the good of society and produce it.
Another reason why Communism is good is because everyone in the country is
provided with a job, house and food; no one is denied the essentials of
life.
One of the most fundamental human rights is access to adequate health
care. In Communist countries the right of access to health care is very
well practiced, because no one is denied health care. In a Communist
country you could go to the Doctor for lets say a Flu shot or a complicated
procedure such as a triple coronary bypass surgery and the government will

When I started to compare and criticize capitalism compared to Communism I
found out that Capitalism is really a harsh form economic organization in
which the people of a same race or country are forced to compete at every
thing they do.
Not only that In a capitalism society many people how can't compete
in a Capitalistic society are thrown aside and labeled as bums but society
doesn't look to see what caused the problem and let these people spoil,
because again in a capitalistic society "only the strong survive.
Overall my views of Capitalism are true meaning that I do believe in
Capitalism, but inside of me I feel that a little bit of Communism mixed
with capitalism will make a perfect form of economic organization in which
the whole of society benefits and moves forward.

Capitalism breeds competition and individual accomplishments. Unfortunately Karl Marx did not feel this way when he published his short piece, The Communist Manifesto, a cry for all those in favor of a communist world to stand up and unite. According to Marx, the capitalist form of government "has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation" (82). He goes on to describe more of these crimes the government, notably the bourgeoisie, has inflicted upon the populace, the proletariat. Yet Marx proves to over-generalize himself on a majority of issues. Although communism is itself almost infallible theoretically, it simply cannot exist in the overwhelmingly competitive, capitalist world that exists today. George Orwell's Animal Farm is an exceptional example that illustrates the faults of communism. This famous philosopher and socialist Karl Marx was well recognized for his famous book titled “The communist manifesto”. But who would of known that years after his death the world would be experiencing major rivalries and conflicts upon the restoration of Marx’s communistic ideas. Communism brought unexpected dilemmas, time consuming arguments and most importantly it lead to one of the most heartbreaking and nastiest wars of all between different nations. “The Jungle,” written by Upton Sinclair in 1906, describes how the life and challenges of immigrants in the United States affected their emotional and physical state, as well as relationships with others. The working class was contrasted to wealthy and powerful individuals who controlled numerous industries and activities in the community. The world was always divided into these two categories of people, those controlling the world and holding the majority of the power, and those being subjected to them. Sinclair succeeded to show this social gap by using the example of the meatpacking industry. He explained the terrible and unsafe working conditions workers in the US were subjected to and the increasing rate of corruption, which created the feeling of hopelessness among the working class.
Ironically, Communism has never existed anywhere. There has never been a system implemented in our entire history by which a society has been utterly classless. Communism would be a type of egalitarian society with no state, no privately owned means of production and no social class (Wikipedia). Today there is a selection of “Communist” states that exist in a variety of locations on our globe. Sadly, all of the claimed Communist states including the late Soviet Union were and are despicable and corrupted examples of the idea of Communism. By using Stalin as an example it is quite possible to portray to the reader a simple and effective example of the flip side of attempted Communism. Stalin took control of a weak government and crafted an illusionary Communist state. Ironically, Stalin had set himself up as the dictator of a completely totalitarian society. By using the people of Russia, he was able to harness the government and use it for his own needs. This is quite similar to 1984 with the concept of Big Brother. Although Big Brother is not a person, the inner society that controls “him” creates a Stalinist nation; this was quite purposefully included by Orwell.

From the very beginning, Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle enthralls the reader with an anticipation that makes one want to continue reading. Upon further research of the author, it is clear he is a passionate writer at heart; though not always successful. The novel is best known for exposing the highly unsanitary conditions of the meat packing industry, run by corrupt political machines, as well as the severity and harshness faced by immigrants during this time. However, Sinclair’s true goal was to promote his new-found socialist principles amidst the growing businesses and harsh labor conditions existing to the lower class.

Reviewers have criticized the conclusion of The Jungle, where the main character is inspired by the principles of socialism, as being too simplistic, edifying, and not convincing ("Explanation of: 'The Jungle' by Upton Sinclair”). “Despite these criticisms, The Jungle, with its harsh portrait of the American dream as unattainable to the working-class poor, is considered an important work in the tradition of the social novel” ("Explanation of: 'The Jungle' by Upton Sinclair”). It is very likely, that Sinclair be remembered mostly because of The Jungle, but his other works will also catch the attention of those who wish to be informed about social issues and significant events in modern history in a simple and clarified fashion (McEwen).

The economical and social issues of the book are told by the tragic stories of the men and women who worked, and died in the stockyards district. They encountered nearly every evil possible. Unable to speak English they were easily exploited and taken advantage of. The workers of the stockyards were paid horribly low wages that weren’t even enough to keep a family going. Every member of the family must work or they would all starve. It seems that no one cared or even knew about this until Upton Sinclair wrote “The Jungle.” For the people of the stockyards they were living in a great depression, a life of depression.
Ibsen reveals many things about the bourgeoisie roles of men and women of society through the play A Doll’s House. These ideals are crucial to ones overall social status. The reader can see the characters and their roles in a figurative and literal dollhouse from the title to the end of the story. The main character Nora is the focus of performing these gender roles as she takes on the role of a doll and eventually seeks self-realization and a striving purpose. She leaves behind her family to fulfill an independent journey. Ibsen helps to point out the flaws of society’s stereotypical gender roles and gives new possibilities to men and women.
On January 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court, in two separate decisions, Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, declared that Congress and the states had to adopt a policy on abortion. Since then, abortion has been one of the most controversial issues in our country today. Every time the subject of abortion is raised, the same question always comes up: should people have the right to terminate an unborn child? The answer is no. No person should have the right to terminate an unborn child which has not yet had the chance to live, no matter what the reason is. Abortion is the termination of an alive, unborn child, which can experience pain through the process of an abortion. There is no need to have an abortion when these children could be put up for adoption instead of being ıaborted.ġ Abortion is the termination of alive, unborn children. How can a person decide just when an unborn fetus becomes a person with constitutional rights. Many people disagree when a fetus becomes an actual person, but the truth is that a fetus becomes a person at the time of conception. An article entitled ıPro-lofe and pro-choice? Yesġ says that, ıFrom the moment of conception, the fetus is endowed with all the genetic information that will enable its development into a full human personġ (Church 108). Technology has advanced very much in the past twenty years and now with the aid of medical technology and the science of fetology, doctors can prove that a fetus is an actual person as early as thirteen weeks of growth (Meyer 62-64). These facts only help to prove that a fetus is an actual person, who deserves the chance to be born. Contrary to belief, a fetus can actually feel pain. The observation of abortions on ultrasound have been very disturbing. So disturbing, that many abortion doctors who have seen the procedure, refuse to participate in abortions again (Meyer 62-64). An article entitled ıFetal positions: Making Abortion rareġ reports that, ıBernard Nathanson, a former director of the National Abortion Rights Action League, who performed thousands of abortions, repudiated the practice in the early 1980's after observing the apparent agony of a fetus subjected to a suction-tip abortionġ (Meyer 62-64). Modern neurology supports the claim that the fetus can experience pain, not just reflex. Reflexive reactions stimulate only the spinal column, but the more complex reactions that stimulate pain occur in the tiny portion of the brain called the thalamus.
Common misperceptions have convinced Americans over the years that communism is corrupt form of government. In reality, the leaders of so called communist countries are corrupt. Communism is an economic system derived by Karl Marx, which in theory is composed of publicly owned property and wealth spread equally among the population. According to Merino in his preface to What Are Some Concerns About Capitalism?, “Communism’s defining feature is the public, or communal, ownership of capital” in which “the means of production owned and utilized by all for the common good” where there is no difference in the wealth between the people. It is clear that capitalism is more advantageous than communism in every aspect in the economy. All stakeholders such as common people, state, government, banks, and investors will benefit more in a capitalist economy. The best way to describe a communist economy is as an old lady who is demotivated in her life and just wants to eat and sleep, while a capitalist economy can be described as a motivated young man who wants to keep achieving more and more in his life.
