ISIS and other extremist terror groups believe that their religion is superior to all, they claim they need to purify/cleanse the Middle East. Another concept from class that was in the video was the term insurgents. Insurgents use fear/terror tactics to achieve their goals, ISIS does this with threatening the refugees about selling their family members near the beginning of the film.
