Where is tennis played today? Tennis can be found throughout the world. It has been dated back to the 12th century and is still an active sport today. One of the prime locations of this sport is in present day Great Britain. Tennis, a sport in Great Britain, has been played throughout the years in many famous courts and by many athletes. Wimbledon, one of the most famous courts in the world, is where professional athletes have played and continue to play this beloved game. Many British fans love to watch the superstar Andy Murray represent their country by playing around the world.
The basic idea of how to play the game is very easy to fathom. Tennis can be thrilling to play, but it has many guidelines that the player must know to play the game well. It starts off when two “players take positions on opposite sides of the net” (Seewagen 14). These players will play on the rectangular court with a net in the middle. Both of them have a tennis racket, and one has a ball. One player serves the ball to the other player, and they start a rally. They take turns returning the ball over the net to each other. The objective is to score points by making the other player fail to return the ball. The ball may bounce once on each side of the court. A double bounce on one side is illegal, and the points are rewarded to the other player. It is also illegal to hit the ball into the net or outside of the boundary lines. When the player gets a certain amount of points, they win. Tennis does sound easy at first, but it does get very confusing.

Tennis has been played by many players for a long time, and will continue to be played because it is very entertaining. It has taken Great Britain by storm because of this reason. Wimbledon, in the city of London, has been a very influential factor of tennis. Without it, professional tennis would not be the way it is today. Andy Murray has also been an influential factor. By winning Wimbledon in 2013, he has made British fans get back into tennis and cheer on their country. The popularity of tennis is on the rise, and without it, many generations would have missed a fantastic sport.
