Moreover, after living in the fake world adults created for a long time, teenagers become indifferent about everything. In the music video, teenagers were all expressionless after they just rushed into the room to listen to the singer’s words. These expressionless faces clearly expose the bad influences of those oppressions on teenagers. Under the oppression, teenagers do not have their own emotions and characteristics. They are more like machines that just run following the rules adults set up. They also feel hard to accept new perspective so that they did not give any response to the singer’s encouragement at first. Words in the lyrics like “care less”, “bleed”, “leave you alone”, and “troubled and hurt” shows teenagers’ attitude toward adults. Adults sometimes just focus on the performance of teenagers, but ignore their internal feelings and desire. Actually, teenagers’ hearts are very fragile. They may feel tired. They may get hurt. However, adults never know or they do not care about these things. They do nothing to comfort or encourage teenagers. They possibly have not noticed that it is very important to pay attention to children’s internal desire, so they are unable to set up close relationship with teenagers. The good relationship between adults and teenagers is a key factor for adults to guide teenagers effectively. We should know that the early adolescent period starts with physical changes of puberty, and parent-child relationship such as communication changes take place (Glatz and Christy 1368). Glatz and Christy also argues that “parents’ target-based expectations, which ultimately have the potential to influence the way parents react and interact with their children, might shift in a negative direction during adolescence” (1368). The effective communication between parents and their children is very necessary in adolescence period because teenagers would do things opposite to their parents’ expectation if they do not have good communication.
