In today's society, modern day technologies continue to rapidly evolve and continuously change the ability to learn and communicate. Further development of technology has created new forms of interaction and ways to do things, which were not possible twenty years ago. The dominant types of technology available today did not all, succeed when they were first brought forth. While each technology needed to make small tweaks and changes for it to work more efficiently and continue to advance, there are some instances where this does not always, help. This particular event exemplifies that sometimes technological innovations will fail no matter what changes are made and the technology itself is not always to blame; outside factors must also still be considered. For the Deepwater Horizon to have adequately functioned it required both technical and social fixes. The technological fixes should be looked at respectively in all aspects of the designs because the design encountered some flaws, which caused the technology to fail. However, the technical fixes should directly be applied to the valves and batteries as well which directly correlated with the failure. The frequent repairs, which could have also helped avoid the crash, would have been proper testing of all sorts of all the equipment involved. This would have contributed significant information because if the machine could not withstand the amount of pressure or complete the ultimate goal, it would have been noted and changes could have been made beforehand to aid in a successful completion. It goes without saying that each section of the Deepwater investigative report concluded different possible reasons for the unsuccessful use of the semi-submersible drilling unit, and of those many reasons many failures was on behalf of technological issues with equipment. Although the Deepwater Horizon event was unsuccessful, the damage that occurred from the technological failure of the Challenger heavily outweighed those of the Deepwater
