My family members expect me to return to Sri Lanka after completing my studies in Australia. As an elder son I have huge responsibility look after my parents. Also I must help my younger brother for his education. In Sri Lanka, person who had gained a foreign qualification is always preferred and paid well. I can join to Nawaloka Construction Company (Pvt) Ltd as an office engineer with salary over 225,000 Sri Lankan Rupees per month. The 2016 Census shows that the proportion of the adult working age population in Australia that has achieved a certificate level qualification as the highest post-school qualification is similar between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians (see Figure 1 below). However, as the level of qualification increases into Diploma/Advanced Diploma, Bachelor and postgraduate awards, there is a stark decrease in completions among Indigenous students. Arguably, this represents a significant inequity within the Australian higher education

There is an appropriate time for everything, sometimes one has to create it or has to wait for it. I am an apostle of this dictum and it is my appetite for amelioration which has led me to the decision of pursuing masters, following the completion of under graduation. My urge to pursue masters kindled in the junior year of my college when I had hit upon the word Industrial Engineering and every day since then my staunch desire for this field has increased exponentially.
“Constant efforts, dedication, devotion and determination are the key to success” This principle I have followed in my career. Setting goals and striving hard to accomplish them has always been my strength in professional as well as personal life. I have always been amazed by computers, code –programs and was keen to understand the underlying meaning, gimmick, structure and pattern of how programs actually work. Learning about simple Foxpro programs, excel sheet formulae, C programs at an early age heightened my interest in computer programs. This childhood interest urged me to do a diploma in information technology and later bachelor’s degree in the same area. Having completed six years course in Information Technology, and two years of experience in IT. I stand by the principal “Stay Hungry” and this has helped me in achieving my goals. Standing by this I would like to explore ahead and pursue MS in MIS. I would like emerge to put to use this knowledge to pursue MS program in MIS.
People in the past did not stress value of receiving a higher education because it was not as indispensable as it is today. Now, people perceive others not only by their appearances, but by their accomplishments. Employers always hire people with the most education and experience. The majority of students are concerned about getting a higher education throughout the years. Nevertheless, some people question the purposes of getting educated, and consider it meaningless. The concept of education has a significant meaning. It enables one to take control of knowledge and apply it. It is education what prepares the mind to comprehend and learn important ideas. A higher education is very important for an individual's success in life. It offers students skills that prepare them mentally, physically and socially for the world of work later in life. A higher education should not be a choice, because it is the foundation of our society. It helps students with their personal development, provides economic growth, helps students understand and interpret the world around them, and affects individuals’ job positions. It will promote new interests, economic stability, help students understand others, and prepare better individuals for the future.

University education trains students in academic subjects. But non-academic fields can lead us to success as well. There are countless entrepreneurs, actors/actresses, political leaders, authors, directors, critics, designers, and more who prove that success does not merely depend on having complete education. These non-academic fields require people’s enthusiasm, but not academic knowledge. For example, Abraham Lincoln completed only one year of formal education, yet became a world famous lawyer and the U.S. President. These examples shows tertiary education may not be a necessary factor for success. On the other hand, it is generally believed that university education is necessary for successful life. Education is the key to success because it opens doors for people of all backgrounds, and it expands the human mind with knowledge. Roland (1997) claim that the vast amount of knowledge gained through education prepares individuals to solve problems, teach others, function at a higher level and implement transformational ideas. The 21st century is ever changing, new inventions are coming up non-stop and without proper education, it’s
