What position or role did you have on the team? During my freshman year of basketball, there was only five on our team, so we all had to play all the time. I played post most of the time. In softball, I have played many different positions. I have played outfield, infield, and was a designated hitter. Tennis is different than any of the other sports I have played because it is just you against another person in singles. I also played doubles where I played with a partner. Last season of Mock Trial, I was going to be the team's timer but circumstances came up,and they needed me to fill in as a witness. Three days before the regional competition I completely learned and memorized my part. Our team then made state competition and another situation happened when another teammate could not compete. One week before the state competition, I learned another part and performed both of the parts at state competition. My team consists of four other people besides myself, Lauren Chojnaki, Alexa-Louise Patnode, and Jacobe Loewen, and Ryan Tyriver. Together, we are tasked with the mission to complete a stakeholder analysis regarding a specific organization and their structure. For this project to be completed successfully, it is important that all team members are able to cooperate with one another and are able to use their different strengths to create the best end product.
While John is under a great deal of stress, he is in the hands of seasoned professionals who all share the same goal, getting John better. St. Luke’s, a medical center geared towards helping veterans, has provided John a knowledgeable health care provider team to help meet his needs. John’s interprofessional team is being put together by John’s primary care physician, Dr. Jackson, and his licensed clinical social worker, Tessa. The team is kept small due to John’s reservations about opening up to people. The rest of his team will consist of a veterans affairs representative to help John seek any veterans benefits he is entitled to, as well as a mental health case manager. Lastly, a CNA assigned to help John integrate into life in a home with others while he tries to get a handle on his depression and Alzheimer’s.
At the point when the team moves into the "norming" stage, they are starting to work all the more successfully as a team. They are no more centered on their individual objectives, yet rather are centered on building up a method for cooperating. They respect each other's opinions and value their differences. They begin to see the value in those differences on the team.
To stay on the JMU cheer team or to quit was a very hard decision that I had to make this past month. Knowing I had leadership responsibilities as a third year veteran on the team made this decision extremely difficult for me. I had to consider all the parties involved which consisted of myself, my teammates, and my coaches. Several factors fell into play when deciding what was best not only myself but for my team as well. The first and most important factor I had to consider was my physical health as I have back problems that requires annual back procedures in order to be able to cheer. A relatively new factor in my decision making progress was the hiring of the new JMU cheer coach, which was extremely difficult for the upperclassmen to adjust to. My last few personal factors that played a role in my decision consisted of getting a job and focusing more on my school work. Next I had to consider what was best for the cheer team. I knew as an upperclassmen I needed to support the cheer program to help keep it strong and consistent during the coaching transition. This was hard to do when several other upper classmen were quitting the team due to this change. I also knew I had a responsibility to teach the incoming freshman new skills the same way the juniors and seniors taught me when I was a freshman. Not only did my team need me but I also took into consideration the contract I signed when making the team my freshman year. After taking everything into consideration
I am exceptionally grateful for this opportunity to possibly be a member of this very prestigious organization. Every day I work tremendously hard to be noticed by both other scholars and my teachers. Now that an opportunity has come, I am truly excited to demonstrate and live by the values of The National Junior Honors Society. I hope to further expose and show both my dedication and want to join arms with my community and my peers and I wish to continue to work with passion and fire to shape the world into a brighter place.
I was very excited when I heard that I had been invited into National Junior Honors Society. The first time I heard of NJHS, it instantly became a goal of mine. When my older sister left for college I was very sad, so I think that this is a way for me to keep a part of her. I have always been that little girl no one understood, because I’m always very excited to learn and get back to school after summer break. I’m very happy to see that I’ve been invited, but this is why I should be accepted.
My 8th grade year of high school I was on the softball and basketball team. My freshman year I was on the basketball and softball team, and a BHS Dazzler which is danceline. Softball was my main sport, but I did everything else until it was time to play softball. I feel in love with softball at an early age. I would play every summer and each year my love for the sport grew. Each year when I played softball in Vidalia or Jonesville I would make all-stars.
Ever since I learned how to talk and walk, I played softball. It didn’t matter if it was a game during recess or during the championships of my Allen Sports Association (ASA) team, I played softball. During the summer of my fifth grade year, my friends and I decided that we would try out for the high school team as freshmen, but when the time came, I was not ready.
Class of 2012, as we sit here this evening, I would like you to take a look at the classmates sitting around you. Many students have given countless hours of time, energy, and passion to worthy cuases that they have been a part of throughout high school. However, those aren't the only students deserving of recognition this evening. We have students here tonight, who have taken a stand for what they believe in, not even hesitating to compromise their reputations.
I’ve always been the type of person that truly enjoys athletics and have participated in nearly all sports offered to me. I started playing sports in elementary with club softball and basketball. As I entered my middle and high school years I was able to add the school sanctioned sports to my list of activities. This afforded me the opportunity of competing in volleyball, basketball, golf, track and softball. The camaraderie and life lessons of sports seemed invaluable to me.
I worked very hard every day at practice to show why they needed me on the field. I was so excited when I got to play in my first high school tournament. I had to be a pinch runner for the pitcher and I scored the first point in the game. At the end of the season that yearev, they finally realized we were losing all of our games because of this one girl, so they took her out and put me in and moved everyone’s positions around.
This report focused on Peer Coaching as the coaching relationship brings to light what the person being coached already knows, but may not know he or she knows, and then helping the persons to make decisions and take action so he or she can move forward to some goal he or she has or a dream he or she wants to achieve. Coaching is a method of facilitating affirmative change that impacts an organizational leader’s performance, development of particular skills, which leads to a broader sense of personal growth.
Many times people forget that teamwork is a combination of the words TEAM and WORK. Which means it takes more than a combined group of people or a team, but it takes that and actions. Positivity, effective skills and effort from each group member. A good team member does their share of work in the group. equity and fairness are key in being a good team member also. A few other characteristics that help a group be successful are , positivity, complimenting other members, communication skills and fairness. By fairness I mean allowing everyone the chance to do something. This group project taught me the ability to be a team player. This is a skill needed to be successful in a group. I feel like it benefit me and my group members because normally
Effective teams work to establish common goals. These goals are usually the drivers of an effective team when all of the participants are communicating to develop the goals they would all like to achieve. In business, this can be seen when groups set a sales goal and develop a plan of action to achieve this goal. Individuals empowered to approach a goal with their interests in mind as well as the interest of the whole group.
Many of the talents and skills they regularly use on a daily basis will transfer to the project tasks that they may to be assigned.
