Importance of Peace Education in Teacher Education

Introduction-

Peace is the major concern of every society it may be an ancient society, tribal community or society in any country in the world. History of human development gives proof that for the peaceful living man has created political system. Peace is a way towards the development.
Today man is developing in all the areas of life ,his efforts are remarkable but inner and outer peace is greatly disturbed .It will not be wrong if we say that the history of man is of struggle and wars .Man has faced severe consequents of the wars.
In the ancient Indian culture especially in the Pre-Vedic period, caste and religion system was liberal Karma i.e. Action was given importance, life was divided in to four periods so, the system has developed to maintain peace in the society.
Pursuing the development man has forgotten some eternal values; he has shown selfish and self-centered attitude .In the modern society we see violence, prejudices, language crisis, racism, exploitation, and saturation, dishonor of human rights, gender bias, and frail family relationships. These are the common aspects we see in our society.

There is one more aspect that belongs to the development of children. Expectations of the parents cut-throat competition to stood first, attitude of the teachers towards the students, lack of competent teachers moreover what child observes in the society, home media and various relationships it directly or indirectly affects the inner and outer peace of the child .It is a vision of Dr.A.P J. ... cycle we have to stop. Future teachers can be trained in this direction. So, peace education plays vital role in teacher training.
