Writing my Target Application Package was beneficial because it enabled me to really think about what the organization I am seeking to intern for wanted in an ideal candidate. Instead of simply reiterating what was posted on the job posting when composing my cover-letter and resume, I was able to truly analyze the job requirements, along with the organization’s mission and goals. By paying attention to the organization’s buzzwords as well as skills they were seeking in an ideal candidate, I was able to effectively incorporate it into my resume and cover-letter. The section I enjoyed writing the must in this assignment was the “day in the life”. I thought the day in the life section was not too difficult because most of the information I needed to include in this section was found on the internship posting. I have applied for several jobs and internship positions in the past and am thus familiar with tailoring my resume to fit the need of the organization. Because I am involved both on and off campus, I had sufficient content to include in my resume. However, one aspect of writing my resume that did pose as a challenge was the formatting of it. I had it ingrained in my mind that the length of my resume had to be one page. Because of this, I altered the margins, spacing, and deleted some relevant volunteer experiences to ensure my resume was exactly one page. After speaking with Professor Ross concerning my resume format, I comprehended the importance of having sufficient white space. I was also informed that my resume can indeed be more than one pages, especially since I needed to add bullets to some of my experiences to ensure that the formatting remained the same throughout the entire document. This information allowed me to edit my resume so that the content, format, and style all contributed to the easy read of this
