Tap water is better than bottled water Tap water is better than bottled water. Here are some reasons why. Three reasons I have are, do to plastic production pollution is growing rapidly in the air and on the ground, Then bottled water is not healthier than tap water. Also plastic bottle production is causing 100 times more expenses causing people to pay a lot more money than they should on a natural resource.
Just imagine the water in your house was being brown or black? That could happen if enough dirt, mud and plastic ends up in the water supply. Maybe a water bottle filled with dirt or maybe something worse or even toxic got into the water system. Tap water is better because, it is natural and isn't damaging to the environment. First,

Some sources to get water at may be safer but as long as it’s clean it’s just as safe as bottled water from Kroger. The water they sell here at Park street intermediate Crystal Geyser Natural Alpine spring water their website quotes “Why is it so important to bottle at the source? Simply put, not only does it make for better freshness, purity and taste, but it is also better for the environment. Other bottled water companies truck their waters from multiple sources where it is blended at a centralized processing plant—a wasteful process which is susceptible to contamination and quality issues. Where as, we are the only major bottled water company that bottles exclusively right at the spring source. It’s more difficult to do it this way, but we never compromise quality.” this company knows the difference their source is natural just like the water that runs in your sinks at home they also promote recycling plastic to make new plastic.
Is bottled water just glorified tap water? people are making money too easy just selling glorified tap water it’s like you're spending money on a natural resource you can pretty much find anywhere. people are causing a monopoly because they are just selling tap water which could have toxins or dangerous chemicals. If you knew bottled water contained chemicals would
any safer than tap. Each is upheld to a somewhat different set of standards. Bottled water
A reason that bottled water has been valued over tap water would be that it is more portable. It is more convenient to just go and pick up a bottle of water than have to fill something up and take it with you. If you are in a time crunch you would
Conversations often turn into arguments when the topic of bottled water versus tap water comes up. Many say that tap water is simply unsafe while others argue that the chemicals in the plastic bottles release toxic or harmful substances into our bodies as well as the environment. However, some humans consume water from public water systems, personal wells, or even bottled water; whichever is most convenient for each particular lifestyle. Some of many reasons why tap water is the more logical choice are that it is cost-effective, suitable for the environment, and healthier for human consumption.
My research question: Is the convenience of bottled water worth all the sacrifices in terms of money, resources, health and damage to the ecosystem?
Three Medical Doctors wrote the book, The Water We Drink: Water Quality and Its Effects on Health. Their names are Joshua I. Barzilay, M.D., Winkler G. Weinberg, M.D., and J. William Eley, M.D. In order to put the issue of drinking water quality and its effects on health into perspective, the book is divided into three parts. It first reviews the history of water, disease, and sanitation. The next section deals with health issues. At the conclusion of the book are chapters regarding bottled water and methods of purification. The intent of the book is to educate consumers.
This water we use is then dirtied and sometimes ends up toxic which can cause a bad
Bottled carbonated water is safer than uncarbonated water. Ask for drinks without ice unless the ice is made from bottled or boiled water. Avoid icypoles and flavoured ices that may have been made with contaminated water.
Likewise, bottled water is not subjected to the rigorous testing that tap water endures. Thus, bottled water is more likely to be contaminated or a source of infection. Tap water is subjected to daily safety testing, whereas bottled water is only tested monthly at the source. Twenty-two percent of the water tested contained contaminant levels that exceeded strict health limits. The safety of people could be secured by banning water bottles.
According to the “Competition in the Bottled Water Industry in 2006 Case,” bottled water industry became the one of the world’s most attractive beverage categories, as more and more people began to focus on health and fitness. Consumers start realizing the need of proper hydration, and they began purchasing bottled water instead of drinking tap water, because they were worried about safety of tap water, which tasted like chemicals. Actually, tap water contained chemicals, such as chlorine and fluoride, which are harmful for human body; however, this problem was solved when the bottled water was brought to the market. Due to bottled water’s convenience, purity, and portability, and safety, bottled water industry began to rise rapidly. During
When the wells then bring up that polluted water, the people are drinking that same harmful bacteria that has grown ("Water Scarcity"). Population growth also is one of the causes of water scarcity, as the larger the population grows, there is more of a demand for water. This growing need for water as the population grows puts more stress on the already limited water supply, and this leads to more malnourished, dehydrated, and sickly
Some people may think that bottled water just goes through filters that get rid of the chemicals that are contained within it, and while they are not wrong they are, however, still uniformed. Bottled water is not only taken from streams and filter but “40% of all bottled water is taken from municipal water sources [a.k.a tap water]” (Bottled Water Pros and Cons. 2014. Para. 9). People drink bottled water so that they do not have to drink tap water when in reality they most likely are drinking some tap water that is mixed into their bottled water. On top of that not only has the bottled water been filtered but it has been found that “22% of tested bottled water brands contained chemical contaminants at levels above strict state health” (Bottled Water Pros and Cons. 2014. Para. 9). In other words, though the water may not have the same weird taste as tap water is does have chemicals in it that are at levels that are not safe to be consuming. When it comes to tap water which contains normal amounts of chemicals, bottled water is not safer to be
While watching “The Story of Bottled Water,” I thought to myself, “Is this all true, or is this really being blown out of proportion?” I simply couldn’t grasp the idea that we as consumers are that wasteful. So, I decided to watch the film again to really grasp the narrator’s message. Then it hit me: in high school AP History, we discussed how bottled water started and how it has become a multi billion-dollar company. From a business point of view, it seems so ignorantly deceptive, yet it was absolutely genius. With a little marketing, bottled water became a huge success. However, it is killing the environment and the water is usually comparable to tap water regardless. The “The Story of Bottled Water” is a very well-made short
Bottled water is a healthy alternative to other beverages. It's easy and convenient to grab a bottle and go, and more people than ever are taking advantage of its benefits. However, the cost of the bottled-water trend to both our environment and our wallets is just too high to ignore. The best—and most responsible—choice is tap water.
It might be easier to live a healthy life for many people, but for others it can be very challenging. I have tried to be healthy so many times, but I always fell off the wagon. For many days I would “feel” healthy, but in reality I was not the healthiest person mentally or physically. I knew that I had to change my behavior, and become healthier (or at least almost healthy) if I wanted to live a longer life. I began my journey by drinking more water, balancing my eating with exerting, all while trying to stay mentally well.
In addition, according to a survey from the US National Library of Medicines, only 17% of the participants prefer to drink tap water exclusively. Compared to the bottled water which shines like a superstar, tap water is like a diligent worker in the shade, unpopular but useful. The extreme unbalance of bottled water consumption implies that a commonly held concept exists: bottle water is superior to tap water. In fact, scientific evidence proves that tap water is nothing different than bottled water. More importantly, the excessive consumption of bottled water is an irrational use of resources and creates severe environmental issues.
