Essay Question To your understanding I must bring three valuable points. All three of those points I see in the movie Taken. The first point is that the movie needs to have believable characters. Next it needs to definitely have a well written plot. The third and final point of this writing is that the movie must have a universal theme. The movie Taken really recreates these three points and I will explain why it does. Our first point we will be looking at is, the question whether this movie has believable characters. In Taken the main character is Liam Neeson. He is starring as Bryan Mills. Bryan is a retired CIA agent that is not together with his wife anymore, but the two share a daughter. It all started off with Bryan trying to build a closer relationship with Kim. He did this b inviting her to dinners and such. While at it, Mills also does security to earn money money on the side. Once when he was overseeing security for a pop star named Sheerah, he is able to save her from an attacker. For saving her life Sheerah agrees to Bryans request of giving Kim some lessons. As Bryan and Kim are trying to bond, Kim seemingly uses the opportunity and asks her father for permission to go to Paris. After some persuasions Mills agrees, but not before checking where and when Kim is going. Once amanda and Kim land in Paris they are accompanied to their hotel by a young man named Peter. Not realizing it Amanda gives away some personal information that leads to the both of them getting kidnapped. Right before the kidnappers came, Kim was able to make a call to her father and give him a bit of information. Mills uses all of his experience and novice to free Kim and bring her home. In a series of events Bryan is able to save Kim right before she is sold to a man that would most likely end her life. Bryan bravely fights off plenty of security and takes Kim home. In the movie Taken the main universal theme that is described throughout is love conquers all. This is shown in Bryan's love for Kim. Once he finds out that Kim will be Taken he goes all into focus. He makes sure everything is precise and leaves no room for error. Any error may cost him his daughter. This quote shows us that Mills is willing to do anything in his power and more to free his daughter. “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you’re looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money, but I do have a particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you”. This quote for me defines how much Mills loves his daughter and threatened people even out of a seemingly hopeless
