Dadaism was a form of art. Dadaism allowed for people to express themselves and take a chance. It was meant to stand out and confuse people. Dadaism took place in the early 20th century in Zurich, Switzerland. Many artists created art in their reaction to the World War I. The artists that participated in this movement rejected logic and society. I think that dadaism was so important because even if you werent good in art, it didnt matter. Dadaism took its peak in 1916 and died down until it was forgotten in 1920.

Suzanne Duchamp was an artist took part in the Dadaism movement. Suzanne was born on October 20, 1889 into an artistic family in Blainville-Crevon, France. Suzanne went to an art school called Ecole des Beaux-Arts when she was 16. Duchamp learned that she liked Impressionism and Cubism. When she was 21, she married a pharmicist. But, she quickly divorced him and moved to Paris to expand her art career. At 22, she exhibited one of her pieces for the 1st time at Salon des Independants. During WWI Suzanne became a nurse until Jean Crotti brought Dadaism from New York. In 1919, Duchamp completed Multiplication Broken and Restored which really showed how much talent she had. Dali was a dadaist, draftsman, and a surrealist. Salvidor played into dadaism with his art and with his actions. Dali drew alot of attention to himself because of the way he acted, many were concerned. In 1903, Salvador’s brother, also named salvador, passed from gastroenteritis.
