The poem “The Raven,” by Edgar Allan Poe, is about a man who lost the love of his life, Lenore (poe). The pain from this loss is so deep that he spends his time attempting to distract himself with old tombs forgotten lore in order to make it to the next day(Poe). This plan is repeatedly interrupted by a rapping on his chamber door and with each round of taping his mental state unravels a little more, until he begins to fear what could be lurking outside his chamber door(P).
