Having some of the best nurses in the community, I had the privilege of interviewing Mrs. Jill Arndt, RN, BSN, MSN, manager of Day Surgery at SSM Health, St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. Touching on different aspects of surgical nursing, she believes that surgical nursing is very important. With six or more months of technical training skills, a surgical nurse has to be a critical thinker, a communicator, someone that is detail oriented and is able to collaborate with others.
