Superman was one of the first hero’s ever created. He started a revolution of hero’s to be born. Superman embodied a time period where people were seeking justice for the uprising of World War II.
Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster were the creators of Superman. They were teenagers when their imaginations created this legend. “Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster were both lower-middle class sons of immigrants who believed in the American dream.”(Superman, St.James Encyclopedia).

Superman’s Creators were Jewish, so Superman fought the Nazis in the 1940’s. Superman wanted to stop the Nazis from killing the Jews.
Superman wasn’t always popular but he also wasn’t a one hit wonder. The creators had an unsuccessful start but eventually began to get Superman to a lift off. His first appearance was in 1938 in Action Comics. Superman became really popular when he began fighting the Nazis for Jewish rights. He hit televisions around the world in 1952. After becoming a huge hit on tv, he had his first movie. “Richard Donner’s 1978 film version of the comic book saga, self-sacrifice suddenly became part of Supermans appeal.”(Paul Harris/the Guardian).
