Most people afraid of death, but some (for many reasons ) desire to die. “The right to die “ is a controversial topic. “The right to die “is a concept based on the belief that a human being is entitled to end their own life or to undergo voluntary enthusiasm. According to “A crime of compassion “, Barbara Huttman, who is a nurse and has been taking care of depressed patients for almost 50 years. She wrote about Mac, a lung cancer patient. He was desperately wanting to die, to end his pain. I personally disagree with the writer and think people have the right to end their own life because it is their life, some have medical reasons. The topic is debatable because it is a moral issue. It is understandable when people disagree. Killing oneself is an act of murder, does not matter who the victim is. But does it mean we can choose to die? In the past, people were granted parole by trying to kill themselves. Terminally ill patients were desperate, and they could not live with the pain. According to Mac, who was an extremely healthy police officer that would be described “he could single-handedly protect the whole city with 32 pounds of attack equipment”, desired to die. Barbara was one of the nurses who took care of the poor man. Barbara drew a picture of Mac, how he suffered in the hospital’s bed. The writer said that every time Mac was in danger, the emergency team would do anything to bring him back, 52 times in just one month. This poor lung cancer patient used to be brave, fearless, good-looking cop. He wanted to die, he wanted to be dead, to be relief. He did not get it, he was not free at the time. Mac was not brave, he was afraid of the pain, he was living in fear every day. This story is sad because the guy could not make a choice, his right was taken away from him.
