The research journal selected for rhetorical analysis is ‘The Aeronautical Journal’. It publishes technical and scientific articles from the aerospace field. It is published by the Royal Aerospace Society (RAeS), which is based in the United Kingdom.RAes is accepted as the world’s longest continuously produced aeronautics journal. The objectives of the journal reflect those of the RAeS. These include: ‘to support and maintain high professional standards in aerospace disciplines; to provide a unique source of specialist information and a local forum for the exchange of ideas; and to exert influence in the interests of aerospace in the public and industrial arenas.’

The authors who submit to the journal include people from academia, research establishments and aerospace industry. Most of the authors who have published in the journal have established themselves as experts in their respective fields and have numerous other publications to their name. Some of these areas include: General Aviation, Human Powered Flight, Propulsion, Rotorcraft, Space, Structures & Materials and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The articles published in the journal address all these areas. As they do not adhere to a specific area of specialization in aerospace they attract readers from diverse areas of the field. The journal addresses readers who have a strong understanding of the advanced principles in the field of aerospace. It is intended for readers who pursue research both from academia and from industry. Articles have 10000 word limit; this gives room for a detailed article. Readers are thus given the opportunity to replicate the work done for better understanding.
