I'm about to take up a position which is going to be deamed by some, if not all, as a terrible stand to take. As a matter of fact, if anyone were to agree with me on ths subject, I'd be surprsed. For you see, rather than arguing from the postion of suicide being an unjustified and inane way to die, I shall argue the other point. That being suicide does have its merits.
Before you people start screaming, hear my case out. Most people argue that nothing justifies the taking of someone's life. Yet what makes life so valuable? Why do people cling to it so? All we consist of is a bunch of carbon atoms, bound together to form an exoskeleton, organs, and tissue. In this light, there really is not much to life.
Out of the 5 billion who inhabit the planet, very few of them shall emerge to be true world leaders. The rest will just lead a mediocre life of work and little play. The taking of ones life can be argued from a populistic view as well. It makes little sense to preserve life in an over populated world. True, one less person here on there will not make a large dent. Yet if everyone who attempts or had attempted suicide were not stopped, the impact would be noticed.
Another popular argument for stoppers, people who want to prevent suicide, is that nothing can be bad enough. Yet how do they know this? They do not have to put up with the same stuff the suicide victim does everyday. How could they possibly know what the potential suicide victim feels. Just as a severely burned victim may wish to be allowed to die in peace, the suicide victim wishes the same. To die in peace with no argument from others.
The argument of "look at the people you will hurt" also does not hold. Imidiate family members will be the only ones to suffer any great pain. Friends will go on with thier lives and in time forget about the death. Imidiate family too will forget the loss in time.
Although it will take most considerably longer for them than it will for friends. Finaly, the argument of suicide being selfish is hard to grasp. Selfish in whose eyes? Certainly not the eyes of the victim.
To them, they consider it selfish of others to try and preserve their life.
So begin the episodes of anguished soul-searching, of horrific "if-onlys" experienced by the family members of countless suicides. Anyone who has faced what Mr. and Mrs. A now grapple with knows that the girl is wrong: they will not be better off, not feel happier, without her. Yet each year, thousands of suicide victims express similar convictions: I am killing myself, they reassure us, for your own good. This thinking – this appeal for selflessness that our society cannot condone – where does it come from? Why, in truth, do people kill themselves?
High school teachers’ average salary varies across the world. The United States is said to be one of the richest countries in the world, yet our teachers are being paid one of the lowest amounts. The Education Intelligence Agency, author of the article “Ohio Teacher Overcomes Union’s Tolerance” published an International Teacher Salary Report ranking the fifty states by “how much the average salary exceeded per capita personal income.” According to the Education Intelligence Agency Ohio’s percentage rate is only fifty- five point one percent. According to the Education Intelligence Agency the lowest state percentage is in South Dakota at twenty- three point six percent and the highest state percentage is Alaska at one hundred and one point five percent. Teachers are a very important part of our society. Teachers’ jobs consist of more than just sitting behind a desk for nine months and having paid summers off. There are many extra tasks that teachers have that most people don not consider. Teachers in public schools work hard for a low salary and should be more appreciated; public school teachers shape the world’s young people, serve as role models, and work long hours.
One of the arguments which are often used in favor of banning Physician assisted suicide and euthanasia is that it legitimizes suicide. If suicide and physician assisted suicide become legal rights, the belief that people attempting suicide are unhinged and in need of psychological help, tolerated out by many studies and years of experience, and would be reversed. The natural end of every human life is death. Some people, for reasons that have never been fully understood, choose to end their own lives. This is called suicide, which means literally ?self-killing?. For all the uncertainty that has surrounded the phenomenon of suicide, this assessment of the problem is probably as accurate as any. The individual seemingly hopeless conflict with the world, decides to end his or her existence in what amounts to a final assault against a society that can no longer be tolerated. In so doing, the person tries to obtain a final revenge on everything and everyone that has caused their feelings of depression.
Suicide is the act of deliberately causing one's own death. It is often carried out as a result of despair, the cause of which is credited to a mental disorder such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, alcoholism, drug abuse, as well as stress factors such as financial difficulties, troubles with personal relationships, and bullying. Suicide is a devastating event with strong emotional results for its survivors and for families of its victims - and the most terrible is that it can be prevented.
Taylor Mali, an American slam poet and teacher, wrote a poem titled, “What Teachers Make”. In this poem, he rhythmically tells about other professions criticizing teachers based on their choice of occupation. While teachers will never earn six figure incomes, they make a difference. Teachers dedicate their lives to leading, inspiring, and educating future generations, all while earning meager pay. Though teachers form foundation of education, their pay does not accurately represent their skills. Using merit pay systems will properly assess how much a teacher should be paid, based on their teaching ability.
This statement is reasonable and important. To live is your responsibility and right. It is not just your right but also your responsibility. You have a responsibility to live. You have no right to die. So, suicide is absolutely not acceptable. It doesn’t matter how the world is created, you still need to fulfill your responsibility. Whether you are poor or rich, the first condition as a human being is to live. You can’t choose to die as death is something that comes naturally. It is something that God does. You only have responsibility once your life is given. After you fulfill your responsibility, seek your rights. You need to delete the thought about dying. If a person decides to take their own life, then that is their choice, even if the choice is perceived as a bad one. As Schopenhauer said, if there is one thing a person is sure to own, it is their life. People chose to better their lives by exercising, eating healthy, traveling, etc., and that is their choice. Some people decide ruin their lives with drug and alcohol use, abusing others, etc., and that is their choice. If someone were to stop a person from committing suicide, then that would be infringing on that person’s free will to die. Typically, the utilitarian recital of morality provides no strong and fast answers about suicide - each case is separate rely on its consequences. It is disputable whether a person decease is legitimately reducing the amount of suffering and/or incremental the general prosperity.
“Suicide is not chosen; it happens when pain exceeds resources for coping with pain” (I-10). Ending a life is a big step in the wrong direction for most. Suicide is the killing of oneself. Suicide happens every day, and everyday a family’s life is changed. Something needs to be done to raise awareness of that startling fact. Suicide is a much bigger problem than society will admit; the causes, methods, and prevention need to be discussed more openly.
Human life is full of meaning. As humans, we assign value to many things. However, what happens when we assign a specific value to a human life? This is the issue being presented in the article, “What is a Life Worth,” by Amanda Ripley. The government determines a monetary value to a human life, and it does not appeal to the masses.

Teachers get summer, holidays, weekends off, and only working 36.5 hours a week. Now in 2005, a study was taken to prove that teacher get paid hourly around $34.06. Which was much 61% better than other careers. Now counteracting that argument the OECD found American teachers spent more hours in their classrooms working than almost every other country. The ethical considerations of suicide continue to be debated world over due to the complex factors involved and the sensitive nature of the topic. An absolutist stance on the issue is taken largely by the law and those with strong religious and moral beliefs, while relativists account for age, background and social and mental health.
► Some are severely depressed over a long interval. To them, suicide may be a "permanent solution to a temporary problem." There is a consensus that a better solution for most clinically depressed people is treatment, using counseling and/or medication.
