Success has various definitions and means different things to different people. Webster’s dictionary defines success as “the favorable or prosperous termination attempts or endeavors; the accomplishment of one’s goals.” Gary Vaynerchuk gives a memorable definition; “true success -financial, personal, and professional lies above all loving your family, working hard and living your passion. In telling your story, in authenticity, hustle and patience, In caring fiercely about the big and the small stuff. In valuing legacy over currency.” This quote, to me, is what success connotes. Success can be broadly defined within the following forms: Personal success entails setting personal goals and attaining them. It is about being able to live one’s life as you desire; making life choices, getting, and doing what you want. Marcus Aurelius said, “a man’s true delight is to do things he was made for.” Personal success could also be in family life. This could be a happy marriage, raising kids, and overall good family interaction. For example, a woman who is both career and family-oriented could define …show more content…
This is setting and attaining educational goals. This could be either a formal or informal education. York, Gibson, & Rankin in the article Practical Assessment, Research & Evaluation, gave a definition of academic success as, “inclusive of academic achievement, attainment of learning objectives, acquisition of desired skills and competencies, satisfaction, persistence, and post-college performance. A young man, who has graduated high-school and college, and is further pursuing a master’s degree, with hopes of also bagging a doctorate degree, can be said to be attaining academic success. The path to academic success is definitely not an easy road, but its attainment is rewarding; just as Aristotle once said, “the roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.” Academic success is no doubt a key parameter in judging
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
To many people success means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But what it really means is more than just that; is having a beautiful and amazing family of two boys and one girl, and have the best wife. Also, success means reaching my goals or dreams, like starting my new manufactory and insurance business and keep working hard because in order to reach things I must be ready to fall and rise up. But like I said, to obtain where I want to be; I’ll first need to finish college having my Bachelor in Accounting and start from zero.
Ultimately, the desired outcome of academic success is to construct the ability to be a life-long learner. It means to feel prepared for the future by retaining information and applying the acquired knowledge in a real-life setting outside of the class. Evidently, mindsets are a substantial part of academic success. If a positive mindset is not established, then there will not be positive outcomes. On a personal level, I believe academic success is defined as the ability to get an education, achieve personal goals through learning, gain excessive knowledge from those experiences and eventually apply it to the future.
Success is something that most people see as what themselves or others have accomplished at work or in material possessions (Reece, 2014). Personally, I believe success encompasses many different areas in one’s life. There are many different measurements of success, such as: personal,
In conclusion, my definition of success is someone who has money and fame. A successful person is someone who is wealthy and has fame. A person who is successful is Donald Trump because he is well known and have plenty of money to live on. Another person that is a success, in my opinion, is Michael Kors because of how the company has grown from simply a purse to all kinds of different apparel. Working hard in life will allow a person to enjoy much wealth and fame, and in turn, will lead to a very successful
Success is a very versatile word, however success is when you find and achieve the perfect
Success is hard to pin down. It may be getting an A on a test or finding a high paying job or creating your most influential piece of writing or even just being able to be yourself. Success is different to everyone. Success follows no arbitrary rules of definition or singularity, success is just what is important to you and what what makes you happy. Success controls people’s lives. It is the single most driving force in all of history, the will to be successful. Without our preconceived notions of success and what it means to be successful, no one would follow rules, everyone would follow their own.
Success is more than how it's defined. Success is happiness. It can be small things that are already accomplished, like having a best friend with an open friendship, where everything is comfortable to talk about, and it is normal that way. Right there is success alone, but there is so much more. Success is perseverance. It can be things that are worked for; things that are spent countless hours
In addition, my definition of success is someone who overcame or is still overcoming a hardship of their own. Either when they are going through a hard time or is just working hard to get where they want, they are a success in my book, either way. For example, Tyler Joseph, a front man for my favorite band, went through some tough, hard times, and got huge success from it. Last but not least, Alexander Hamilton, a treasury secretary for the United Sates government, fought through poverty and his own battles and got huge success as well. Moreover, success only happens if one works hard and stays on
What is success? Is it the process of doing a task and receiving a positive result acceptable amongst the community, or is it simply achieving ones own personal goals? Success to me can mean many things. Although I am successful in school, that does not necessarily mean I will lead a successful life.
Success is a word that really hard to define, because everyone will have a different definition for this word. In fact, there no exact definition for the word "success". For a student, maybe the success means to pass all courses of the semester; for a business man, signing a importance contract and get a lot of money are successes; and for a president, leading the country to develop and make the people have a better life are success. For me, I also have my own definition for the word "success". When I was a kid, I really want to be a scientist, but after I become mature, my thinking has become more mature and my definition of success also changes. I think the success is not only to be a kind of person or to get some things, I think people should do more things for being successful. Now, I think to be successful include four aspects: achieve the dream, have a good living, have the power to control your free time to do your favorite thing, and to be use; if you can achieve these aspects, you are being successful.
Success is something that can be measured from big to large. A victory in a game, the type of life that someone sets out to be, finding something like a bottle cap if you collect them. All these little that make someone happy in life can be considered success. They found or did something that improved their attitude and them. That is what true success is and that’s what everyone tries to truly succeed In order to succeed they should pursue
Success can be defined in many different ways based on your values in life or what you value in life. If you value money or materialistic things, you would most likely define success how society defines success. As being wealthy, having a job that pays well, having a really nice car, having a big house, having expensive clothes, etc. Others might define success as just simply being happy living the life they have always dreamed of; or just accomplishing the purpose that they believe they were put on this earth for. I define success as going through life and checking off goals you set, whether it be long term or short term. As long as you put in hard work, success can easily be accomplished. Look at it this way, most of the people
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. You have to have persistence within yourself. Varying on your profession, you will need a certain skill level. Your definition of success can be suitable best for you, but not for others. It is about truly not giving up, reaching your full potential, and self-fulfillment.
According to the dictionary, success is defined by the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors; the accomplishments of ones goals. As definitions go, I think that that is a fair one for success. However, I believe that everyone has their own definition of success based on their own personal successes. Some may say that it could be wealth, prestige or position in life but, I think that it is more personal than that. I believe that success is the overall contentment with the position you have in life and no desire to climb any higher. This could be construed as inaccurate because we will always want to climb up hire in life but, if we are relatively content with the position we have attained in our careers, family lives and social lives, then I think that we have reached success. Career position is fairly self-explanatory but, family and social standings are different. If part of your definition of success includes having a spouse and three children and be considered upper-middle class but, as of now, you just got engaged and are a poor college student, you have a lot of work to do. This may seem shallow but, I know many people who define success as being the proud parent of two children and be comfortable from a monetary stand point. Back on point, to achieve success you need nine things; personal responsibility, self-motivation, a life plan, goals, self-management, interdependence, self-awareness, lifelong learning, and emotional intelligence.
