Success has various definitions and means different things to different people. Webster’s dictionary defines success as “the favorable or prosperous termination attempts or endeavors; the accomplishment of one’s goals.” Gary Vaynerchuk gives a memorable definition; “true success -financial, personal, and professional lies above all loving your family, working hard and living your passion. In telling your story, in authenticity, hustle and patience, In caring fiercely about the big and the small stuff. In valuing legacy over currency.” This quote, to me, is what success connotes. Success can be broadly defined within the following forms: Personal success entails setting personal goals and attaining them. It is about being able to live one’s life as you desire; making life choices, getting, and doing what you want. Marcus Aurelius said, “a man’s true delight is to do things he was made for.” Personal success could also be in family life. A young man, who has graduated high-school and college, and is further pursuing a master’s degree, with hopes of also bagging a doctorate degree, can be said to be attaining academic success.
