When it comes to Apple, the first name that usually comes to most people’s minds is Steve Jobs. Today’s youth and adults alike love their IPhones, MacBooks, IPods and IPads. I don’t think you could turn a corner, sit at a Starbucks or simply just look around any area littered with people and not see one of these devices in just a matter of moments. There are so many factors that lead to the success and failure of a company, whether it’s capital, management or simply grit and determination. In most cases though, a successful company starts off with that one product or service that starts them on their journey of greatness. He left Apple and actually returned to school to finish his degree in electrical engineering and computer sciences, before returning to Apple shortly after. During this period, he was a main contributor in the development of the Apple Macintosh computer, which became the first successful mouse driven home computer. (biography.com editors, 2016) Wozniak again left Apple in 1985, with his full retirement in 1987. However, he is still an employee of Apple and receives a stipend, estimated at $120,000 a year. After his main years with Apple, Wozniak took on other ventures, including starting or acquiring new tech companies, developing new technology, charity work and other philanthropic endeavors. His first significant venture after Apple was a company called CL9. The company brought to the market a product that most people use today. It was the first programmable universal remote control. As much as Wozniak loved creating and developing products, he also had a passion and burning desire to bring his knowledge and love of computers to children. One of his dreams had always been to teach younger children computers and he was able to achieve that by teaching fifth to ninth grade students.
