High school life is one of the most scintillating and memorable experience in a teenage life. It is in high school that a teenager enjoys the vibrant environment, the company of friends, and the various academic and co-curricular activities, which enriches, nurtures and prepares the teenager for adolescence. But due to fast physical changes and mental development at this stage, students may experience incompatibility of their mental development with their physical changes or with the social environment and then suffer from problems arising from inadequate adaptations. These problems may further cause psychological troubles and even induce deviant behaviors such as stress. Stress is common to students, nowadays. If stress is harsh and extended, it can lessen academic performance, hinder with a student’s capability to involve in and add to campus life, and raise the probability of substance abuse and other potentially destructive behaviors. Another study from Sulaiman, Hassan, Sapian and Abdullah (2009) Stated that males and female students experience different level of stress and an explanation may be because females are more likely to be emotional than males in reaction to their environment. According to Misra and McKean (as cited by Seyedfatemi et al., 2007), college students experience elevated stress at expectable times each semester due to academic commitments, financial pressures, and lack of time management skills. Other possible sources of stress for college students include excessive homework, unclear assignments, and uncomfortable classrooms.
