His name is Orion. This name means rising in the sky, dawning, and this perfectly fits him. Orion is a constellation in the sky who is extremely well known to people all over the world. He can be simply recognizable and is easily found by looking for the three stars that make up his belt. Thousands of years ago, the ancient Greeks saw a design by stars in the sky that looked as if though it was a warrior. These people named it Orion.

The story of Orion goes along with Greek mythology. There are so many stories of how he constellations came to be. There are many created by the Greeks about how Orion came to be. They differentiate just basically based on who is parents were. In the most well known story of him, Orion was seen as the son of Poseidon and Queen Euryale. Poseidon was the god of the sea while Queen Euryale was an amazing hunter. Orion, who developed the talent of his mother, also became a great hunter himself. Over time though, Orion became to grow quite a bit of an ego. He was a fantastic hunter, but he got a little carried away. He thought he could kill every animal that came across his path. Until one day, a small scorpion came and stung him, which caused him to die in his vanity. …show more content…

He consists of many stars, but only eight of which are major. These are the stars of Betelgeuse, Saiph, Bellatrix, Rigel, Meissa, Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka. Rigel and Betelgeuse, which are found in the constellation of Orion are two of the ten brightest stars that of which we can see in our sky. Betelgeuse forms his left shoulder while Bellatrix forms his right shoulder. Orion’s head is made by one star called Meissa. His left foot is formed by Saiph and the right formed by Rigel.
