During this activity I found out how other people viewed me, and how they stereotype me. Some of the things people said were not true and some of the other things were, I just never realized it. I found out that when you are a cheerleader, like I am, you can get perceived as some not so good things, for example I found out during this activity that people see cheerleaders as rude, rich, always super skinny and pretty, and most of all popular. When people think of a cheerleader they automatically think “oh they must be really popular, and I bet she has a boyfriend that is a football player”. I surveyed a few of my friends and they said that when they first knew me they thought I was really sweet and shy and now they say that I have gotten caught up in “the” group. This is referring to the group of people that I hangout with. So I am even stereotyped by the people that I hangout with. During this activity we also had to write how we see ourselves instead of how other people see us. I wrote down the ways i see myself. This part was hard because I don't normally like to say stuff about myself and gloat. SOme of the things I wrote down were, i'm outgoing, funny, mostly happy, I am not a mena redhead, and I am not exactly like the people I hang out with. I do think that a lot of times people are so fast to judge others because it just easier than actually getting to know who they really are. This year I was new to this school and district I came from ICD which is a private school. Most people didn't know who I was and they stereotyped me right away. So when they met me they thought I was shy and rude just because of the school I used to go to.
