Besides these institutions and personalities he damaged with his lies, the profession of Journalism and fact checking got hurt as readers lost their confidence seeing something like that escaped the eyes of those in charge of verifying what they write, although tighter regulations were imposed, and those who dropped the ball were dismissed, the damage to the readers and followers was done.
