STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
I am beholden for providing me this fortuity and it is with ample contentment and genuine gratification I indite this statement of purpose. I strongly believe in the adage “There is no substitute for hardwork” which has been and will be my precept in all the aspects of life including academic and professional career. Accomplishing M.S will be an ideal step for my aspiration to augment knowledge in electrical engineering and affiliated fields. I contemplate to pursue my M.S degree at your university which I believe will be a robust substratum for a successful and confronting career as a research professional at a preeminent university lavish with magnificent research facilities and academic enterprise.
With an intact school background I have successfully completed my 10 years of schooling and secured 87.34% in 10th standard. My curiosity and expertise in solving quantitative and analytical problems accompanied me to take mathematics, physics, and chemistry as majors in pre-university education and secured 91.3% in pre-university board examination. Ever since my childhood I have a fascination to know how things around me work. I used to search for the electronic gadgets in home which were in debilitated condition and start working on them.
This passion of mine evoked me towards taking Electronics and Communication Engineering as discipline in my engineering at Vignan University, one of the premier institutes in India. With a vision of having computer knowledge too, to surmount in this embedded electronic world I took Information technology as my undergraduate minor which bolstered me to gain knowledge in fields like Data structures, Database and management systems and Operating Systems. I took Electrical engineering as my major of undergraduate studies as it offered me innumerable choices of specialization and I completed the same with 8.3 CGPI. When I was ten, on watching the building elevator move up and down, I tried to create a small toy elevator using the motor and remote control of a toy car. I suspended the toy lift with threads on my room’s window, put my little GI Joe figurines in it, and made them move up and down. Later in school, I developed interest in Physics and Mathematics. Meanwhile, in my junior college of Science, I got an excellent exposure to most of the concepts of Physics by reading books such as 'Lecture on Physics by Feynman’ and 'Fundamentals of Physics' by Resnick & Halliday. My interest in the study of electromagnetism, and power gradually peaked after I read the about the work done by eminent scientists in these fields. It was then I decided to pursue Electrical engineering since it comprised of subjects that catered to my interests like power and electromagnetism.
An exceptionally eminent faculty, an environment abounded with scholastic activity and a graduate program that beautifully blends the pearls of high-end course work and research facilities at the avant-grade of every field are the attributes that drive my motivation to choose your university for my graduate studies. I can affirm that I possess the basic aptitude, dedication and potential to maintain the aspiration and motivation required for my graduate study. Being the top student in my secondary school (with 85.5%), I got admitted into Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering at MIT, Ujjain. My curriculum enhanced my knowledge in Microprocessors, Digital Signal Processing, and Analytical and Industrial Instrumentation. Having a strong zeal towards Information System and Computer Programming, I have also learned different languages like C, C++, SQL and PL/SQL.
After completing my MS, I aim to become a highly acclaimed professional. On returning to Pakistan after pursuing my M.S. in electrical engineering, the knowledge that I have received in this field would be of great benefit to the electrical energy industry in Pakistan and the place where I will work. As such, I would be well equipped to make a certain amount of impact on society and the economy. It is my heartfelt desire that I may continue my path of success with your international students. People travel miles in search of their true passion; some find them early in their life and I consider myself lucky enough to be one among them. I found my true calling at the age of 12 on a field trip to a milk factory. It seemed like the Disneyland of science with huge machineries, conveyer belts running all around, and instruments working about in their own rhythm with sheer intricacies and perfection. As a kid, I was eager to understand the mechanics behind this magical rhythm. The desire of gaining in-depth knowledge about Control System and Automation eventually led me to choose Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering as my undergraduate study.
The eminent faculty, excellent research facilities, flexibility in course selection and a multicultural student community have influenced my decision to study at your University. If granted admission at your university, I would perform to the best of my abilities and hope to acquire skills, which will help me attain my goals. Being well acknowledged about the above saying has pushed me a mile further for every aspect of my life. The four year engineering course in Information Technology has always been a beautiful experience and has inspired me to put the knowledge into my Masters degree. This would allow me to enhance my knowledge about technology and its pros and cons and the guidance I would need. Gone are those days when man had to slog for simple works, he has advanced into boundaries which are unimaginable and has made his life easy, being an essential part of such an advancement has always been my motive. To attain my goal, my first priority would be in the field of research which will consist experiencing the applications in the real world steered by comprehensive know-how about technology. Technology has prevailed and casted its spell to parts unknown and now has been imbibed into man.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.
From my perspective, excellent electronic engineers are a group of gifted and imaginative talents who bravely explore and innovate, change the world with passion and innovation. I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses. In UoM, I managed to gain GPA of 4.0. Yet, my pursuit of the dream does not end there, since I plan to apply for M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Carnegie Mellon University, where I can receive the best education among the world.
