Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.” When I first heard these words, I thought I belong to a family with a rich history in agriculture. My family has instilled a deep and sound sense of respect in me towards Mother Nature. This quote has nothing to do with me. But in due course of time, I realised how wrong I was. I strongly believe that its duty of each and every individual to take care of this planet and consider it not as a heritage from our ancestors; but a gift for our future generation.
With this thought in mind and after a great deal of self-evaluation, I have decided to pursue my career in Ph. D. in Environmental Engineering. This decision followed naturally after carefully considering my academic background, the areas of my interest and my ultimate professional goal, which is to pursue a research career, either as a teaching faculty member, or in a research and development department of any industry.
