Imagine this, you have been meditating for years and all of a sudden, on a random day in 610, the angel Gabriel tells you that you are the last prophet of god. This seems crazy, but for Muhammad, he decided to listen to Gabriel and take the matters of Allah into his own hands. Muhammad created the religion of Islam and in under two hundred years, it was spread across a large amount of Europe, Africa, and Asia. Islam was able to spread so quickly because of the preaching of Muhammad and the caliphs, the Muslims’ military campaigns, and the immense military surge at Mecca. Because of the preaching of both Muhammad and the Caliphs, Islam was able to spread quickly across the countries around the Mediterranean Sea. After receiving the message from Gabriel, Muhammad instantaneously told his wife and close friends, but in around 612, Muhammad started to propagate the word of Allah to his hometown, Mecca, “He quickly won converts from among the young men of Mecca and opponents from among the wealthy merchants of the town.” This refers to the crowd that Muhammad preached to. During the year of 630, Muhammad led an army of 10,000 soldiers into Mecca to regain the Muslims’ grasp on his hometown, “This time Muhammad led a force of 10,000 into Mecca and took control of the city.” This quote reflects on the significance of the attack on Mecca, proving it to have a large impact on the Islamic religion. After Muhammad marched into Mecca, he set his troops around the Ka’aba as he walked around it seven times, destroying the idols inside of it. Subsequently, Muhammad continued ruling the Muslims for two more years till his death.
