The most important part of any pro-sports team are the fans. Without the fans, the coaches, players, or owners wouldn’t make any money. The television networks wouldn’t pay the leagues for national television rights, and companies wouldn’t be spending all that money for commercial time. Every sports team depends on its fans for financial support. This support comes from ticket sale, the fans purchasing team jerseys, and from food and beverage sales at the stadium. No matter what sport it is or where you watch the game; at the stadium, a restaurant, or at home, you will come across these different types or fans; the ultimate fan, the casual fan, and the bandwagon fan. They will always talk about how their team won a big game, only to have cheered for someone else all season until their team lost. These fans will wait until after the Super Bowl to confess how much love they have, for whoever won. I believe that the reason they jump around so much is that he or she always has to be on the winning side, they don’t like to lose. It could be that their team had a couple of terrible seasons and they want to cheer for someone who might win. I understand this feeling, I’m from Pittsburgh and had to watch the Pirates lose season after season. But when they finally made it to the playoffs after twenty years, all the losing seasons didn’t matter anymore. Sometimes this fan won’t be even cheering for a team but following a player. If the team signs a big time player in baseball, they’ll switch to that team because of the player. They might not even be following a team or a player, but instead, they might have seen a celebrity wearing a team hat or shirt and decided that they would also. Anyone will know if they meet this type of fan because these fans will have a couple of different team jerseys, probably one for every team the player ever played on. Another way to know this type of fan is to ask them the team roster, and they will only be able to tell the names of the well-known players, something that they can find out by listening to any of the sports talk shows. One of my sons is this type of fan. He might have ten different football teams that are his favorite, but they are always the ones that are winning. He gets mad at me because I call him a
