Growing up I always had a strong passion for football and really made the sport the center of my life. I realized early that playing football was not going to last forever. So I brainstormed daily on what else I am good at and what else I could do. First, I decided to become a sports analyst. In high school I took a couple of journalism classes including photo journalism and creative writing. I didn’t enjoy myself as much as I would have like so I came to the conclusion that maybe being an analyst wasn’t for me. I then entertained the idea of working more so on the administrative side of football. I thought maybe being an operations manager was for me. I went to work every day with a sense of fulfillment that I was finally making a difference in someone’s life. So, today I am confident in my decision to combine my love for football and my passion for making a positive impact on today’s youth into a career as a teacher and a coach. I strongly feel that these three keys could easily be the blueprint to becoming a successful teacher. Having an in depth knowledge of what these three keys mean can and will make a big difference between an average teacher and a great teacher. I believe that the keys to success: be reasonable, organize your life, and reflect will help me be a great educator. Being reasonable states the fact that, “You will not save them all.” This will help me and other educators to be more realistic in our approach to educate our students. Organizing your life to be a teacher simply means making education the main priority and the center of your life.
