For the project I choose three hearty meals to fill up six peoples’ rumbling stomachs. The appetizer i chose was spinach balls. This uncomplicated appetizer was not difficult to make, but at the same time, could taste great. For the main course I chose black bean burgers making sure they were spicy. I have made this a few times already and knew the basic steps already. This would make it easier for me to make three courses in time for dinner. Finally, I chose brownies as the desert because, who doesn’t like brownies? The spinach balls came with a simple recipe and few ingredients. It took me a little experimenting with the microwave in order to defrost the frozen spinach. I removed as much water as i could with my hands, later using a few paper towels to remove as much water as possible. Next, I grabbed a mixing bowl and put all the dry ingredients together. I then beat 3 eggs and put them, along with melted butter into the bowl and combined it with a fork, then my hands. When cutting the onions, I placed the board in the stovetop and turned the fan on. This helped reduce my tears while cutting by removing the gas that causes people's eyes to water. I put the onions into the hot oil first followed by peppers, potatoes, and garlic when the other vegetables started to brown. Finally I added the herbs as well as salt, peppers, jalapenos, and chipotle powder. When everything was cool, I added the beans and mashed them together adding cheese, brown sugar, and breadcrumbs.
