Lee Lor was a fifteen year old Hmong girl. She was diagnosed with an acute appendicitis. During the operation to remove her appendix, doctors discovered an eight inch cancerous tumor in abdomen. Without consent they removed the tumor which cost Lee an ovary and part of fallopian tube. The doctors told her parents after the procedure what had happened and promised that she was still fertile and able to still have children. The Hmong people do not accept the western world tradition and science. They hold on strongly to their ancient traditions, are animist, and very spiritual. When the parents were made aware of the extra procedure taken place they did not trust the doctors and refused Lee further treatment including chemotherapy.

At the municipal level, the city of Hamilton will become one of the first cities in Canada to have legal marijuana stores. There will be an attempt to make it runned by the LCBO when legalized. Since legal marijuana stores will be present in many other cities in Canada, the municipal governments of each city are setting guidelines for how marijuana will be sold. Hamilton endeavor is not to have the stores nearby schools since marijuana is a harmful agent. Also, another city is Toronto where Kathleen Wynne mentioned that marijuana should be sold with LCBO stores.

Evidence-based practice is comprised of three significant concepts: respect and awareness for the targeted population’s values, previous clinical practice or experience with that population, and systematic research to establish a better understanding of what is already known about the study’s focus. These concepts are all taken into consideration when designing and conducting a study because it provides a more valid and credible source for others.
In the case study provided, the B&L Inc. company is a manufacturer of trailers for highway transport trucks. They use three different divisions to manufacture about forty trailers per year. The current structure of the manufacturing process consists of the trailer division, a sandblast and paint division and the metal fabricating division. Brian Wilson, the materials manager, was asked by the general manager to look for opportunities that could reduce the operational costs of the organization. This definition takes into consideration the need to delve into the professional’s clinical knowledge (Burns, 2007) as well as looking into the best evidence to support the professional.
