Every year, many children in the United States who have disabilities or other difficulties receive special services at school, which are designed uniquely to their needs. These services that they receive are a part of their daily routine in school. The students that receive these services face many problems in school, these problems include: behavior, motor skills, speech, difficulties reading, writing, comprehension, and saying focused. Other children face problems such as learning disabilities and emotional troubles. In America, by law, children with disabilities have the right to receive special education and continuous support from the school system to further their education. These agencies work together to ensure the safety of the child, and that the child stays on a path that keeps them out of trouble. With children who are emotionally disturbed, consistency is very important; sudden change in their lives can cause a spiral of downward behavior. Furthermore, these families need a treatment approach that is consistent. Each agency needs to collaborate to come up with a treatment plan that will be effective for the child and the family. These agencies must work closely before acting with the child and agree on a plan that will be most cohesive. The next type of children I will address are children who have learning disabilities. Some learning disabilities that I have worked with are: ADHD, dyslexia, processing disorder, visual processing issues, nonverbal learning disabilities, reading, writing, and math issues. These disabilities make it harder for children to learn and function in the classroom.
