Spain impacted the world in a mostly negative fashion with the discovery and conquest of the New World. The Aztec society was one of the largest societies and was made up of 3 large cities.The Aztec were very similar to large European societies with an emperor ruling over the society followed by a group of unruly nobles who also held power. Aztec priests had the important job of preventing the apocalypse through human sacrifice. The Aztec would take resources from societies that they conquered such as goods, precious metals, and people to use for sacrifice. Spanish conquest of the Aztec empire became easier by using frustrated people that have been conquered by the Aztecs by using them as an ally. Incas had no written language and used knotted strings to keep track of history. Incas also were good with integrating people into the empire. The Inca government had a system in place that forced men to work for the state for a certain amount of time each year which lead to the creation of more roads and temples. Spain conquered the Inca and Aztec with the help of European disease as well as capitalizing on a civil war fought amongst the Incan empire. New Spain was made up of two different controlling royalties, The Viceroyalty of New Spain and The Viceroyalty of Peru. There were many similarities that gave the Spanish empire an easier time with controlling new territories. Spanish explorers came into Mexico in search of gold but found a mountain of silver instead. Spanish government's forced 1/7th of all men in each district had to work in the silver mines for a year. Spain did not purchase African slaves in South America because the slaves had no experience with working in high altitude and mine work was very deadly. 150,000 tons of silver were mined from the New World in about 200 years.
