The world we live in continues to diminish, from global warming and natural disasters to disease and poverty. Therefore, space exploration is vital in order to discover new ways to save our planet, while looking into other possibilities for our future as human beings. Illness plays a major role in our world today. From cancer, STDs, and infections, to national outbreaks of deadly diseases, such as Ebola. Although, prior events have revealed that if we work together as a nation, a cure will be discovered. For example, the NIH scientist "investigate ways to prevent disease as well as the causes, treatments, and even cures for common and rare diseases." Although, like many projects, financial support is needed in order to provide the materials necessary for furthering our education. According to source C, only four cents of every dollar goes toward education, this needs to change. Space could help us solve challenges we face in our world today while overcoming unknown complications we may face in a new environment. Through space exploration we are putting money toward a "research and development, salaries, benefits, doctors, teachers, scientist’s… corporations and businesses both large and small. (Source A)" In fact, space satellites have inspired numerous scientists to find new ways to cut emissions while conserving energy, overall working to stop global warming and preserve the life of our world along with the human species. Source E argues "we are only earthly creatures with the capacity to extend our influence be on the four corners of the globe." I believe that is that this is not the case at all. Humans have accomplished many tasks which at one point were deemed impossible, yet we continue to advance socially, technologically, and genetically. For example, many perceived air travel as an impossible task, Lord Kelvin once stated “heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible,” only to be disproved by the Wright brothers eight years later. Today, planes are a multi billion dollar industry, flying across the globe while rocketships and satellites delve into the galaxies.
